I started to really hate those things when they put one of them at the end of that spinning laser corridor in the pyramidion strike that waits around the corner til someone is halfway down the corridor, it comes out and does its shield push pulse move and unless you know that ♥♥♥♥ is coming or you are taking that laser room extremely cautiously, it's going to push you into the lasers behind you and kill you.
They did that on purpose and I hate bungie for it.
Just did tier 2 of the reckoning yesterday for the first time and the number of phalanxes is actually disheartening. Have to use heavy ammo on those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ things to thin it all out.
And yes, they annoy the heck outta me too.
Wizards I just plain hate with a passion.
It must be very hard to do that.... *cough*
Then again, I like to be mobile in PVE and jump a lot so I can dodge them from time to time, quite reliably. It's usually when I'm low on HP and have to lay low or am plainly unlucky that I get hit by them and fly away.
And at that point they're usually free kills anyway. Just like regular Cabal phalanxes.
It's just a BS pushback ability that often compliments the environment, like master phogoth and his 1 mile pushback radius.
It took me a hundred hours to figure out that their weak point was their navel and not their head
