What anti barrier weapons to use?
Because I am having a hard time finding a weapon that is good dps and can break barriers in the Sundial

Or are enemies just that much of a bullet sponge in the Sundial?

Vow is pretty good and even better with the catalyst.

Scout or Pulse rifle wise though even the top ones like Randys Throwing Knife seem meh

Randy's Throwing Knife isn't meh. It's the best non-exotic scout in the game. Imagine Mida being good, then Randy's would be Mida on crack. And also better than Jade Rabbit. And you can put mods on it too. It's like an exotic in disguise of a legendary.

For Sundial? Have you tried it in Sundial?
I used to enjoy Eriana's Vow at the beginning but the recoil is annoying as hell and so the handling speed. I found a recent exotic handcannon with burst fire really good but I don't remember having anti barrier.
Bad reputation or Go figure smg and pulse rifles have armor-pierce rounds* and if you lucky to have anti barrier perk from last season or this season anti champion barrier perks will also help.
There is also a perk for crucible mode that add a strong bullet penetration called Unstoppble Burst.

Any weapon with high handling and high impact with those perks are great against enemies with shield.

I have used randys throwing knife and it still takes 2/3 of the magazine to trigger a shield then the last 1/3 to just stop the healing and not break the shield.

Vow on the other hand does randys entire magazine in 2 or 3 shots with 7 or 6 more shots ready to go if you have the catalyst. AND it auto loads so swap to your damage dealer see shield go up, bust out vow and bam.

Bit off topic but since we are kissing the vows backside right now, it's also an extremely good weapon in the crucible, two tap weebish bow users for days.

See that overshield in gambit prime?! THE VOW DOESN'T GIVE A ♥♥♥♥, you're still down in 2 shots.

Probably gonna get some flak for this, but I haven't gotten any crucible pinnacle weapons so far (Haven't had the patience to get to fabled or whatever rank it is). I generally use my Outlast. I got kill clip and feeding frenzy on it so it's a monster for hordes and seems to do pretty decent single target damage on top. In Sundial I can generally take down a barrier in 2/3 of a mag.

The thing about Sundial is it's an activity with a lot of extra people, so if someone's shooting at the barrier champion, you can just wait for them to trigger the shield and then mow it down pretty much instantly. If you're solo/alone in the area I suggest swapping to your non-barrier weapon to activate the shield and then swapping back to burn it down.

You have to time your anti barrier a bit better now because the weapons anti barrier is on needs timing you cant just unload on something until it dies like last season.

Kinda sucks honestly, I hate the anti barrier champs now because of it. Pulse rifle is too slow and always need to reload right when they throw the barrier up most of the time, scout rifles, same problem.

Just gotta time it better, there isn't really gonna be a secret to it honestly. The weapons we have for anti barrier are not good this season imo.

Obviously EVOW works though but it's sorta the same issue. Gotta time it better than just having an auto rifle/smg with 40+ bullets in the clip before a reload which was vastly more simple and less troublesome to deal with in hectic situations.

I suspect that awful bombardment stage in the sundial would be much much easier with anti barrier on auto rifles/smgs.

Unstoppable on bows is nice though. I like that a lot.
Hush is a solid option for anti barrier, but doesn't work with unstoppable, sadly
