Is this more pvp or pve? & beginner's questions
I've never played this game before. I don't mind both usually but which part is superior in this game?. Can you join or play with other players automatically or do you need a clan first?. I've read a beginner's tips somwehere but couldn't understand everything. My last question is should I purchase some ingame currency as well or is this not important?

I would say mainly pve. but it has very active pvp community and no you dont need ingame currency they are only for cosmetics

Crucible and gambit can be played at anytime, they are needed for many quest steps and bounties but you'll spend most your time doing end game PvE raids, nightfall, hunts, quests.

This game is mainly PvE, but PvP content exists. You don't need to ve in a Clan, but it can help with progression. If you're new, don't buy ingame currency, only do that if you plan to keep playing the game.

It's both PVE and PVP. You'll probably end up doing both at different times. A lot of the game has match-making, but some of the tougher end game activities do not, and you'll need to find people to do them with.

You can hold off on purchasing in game currency. Play the game and decide whether you want to or not.

TLDR: PvE content is wider, though there is still a lot to do in PvP. You don't need premades for most of the activities, I'm a solo player and I still haven't got bored of this game after year.

PvE content is much larger than PvP, but if you want to access some activities, you need other people to play with you: Raids, higher difficulty strikes (strikes are equivalent of dungeons in wow), but in general, it is always efficient and more fun to play with premades as sometimes you meet people who are completely stupid, but it is not required to access most of the activities.
PvP content is also quite wide, though not as much as PvE, PvP itself divides into Crucible and Gambit modes. Crucible is your typical PvP - Shooting each other, capturing zones, etc. (You also have like about 5 modes in crucible).
Gambit is is more complex mode than crucible, there are 2 teams of 4, each has their arena, your goal is to kill mobs, collect motes that drop from them and bank them in the middle of the map, once you do, you summon boss that you need to kill and you win, but sometimes enemy player can invade your arena via portal that unlocks each 25 motes which makes this gamemode more complicated.

I feel like PVE is more prominent in the game. If you're looking for pure PvE, look elsewhere, because some of the PVE quests end up requiring you to play PVP which imo, sucks.

Mostly PVE,
but if you dont mind a little bit of class and weapon balancing issue then this game also have broken yet fun enough PVP to satisfy your needs.

Mainly PvE, but has PvP that you can't really avoid for many of the quests.

It can also be played solo, with matchmaking teams or with preassembled fireteams (both PvE and PvP). But some of the content is ONLY available through premade fireteams.

Finally, it is a looter shooter where you will want to work towards the better tools.

NOTE: PvP is not your traditional "exclusively weapon based" PvP. There are a lot of character abilities that can be as effective or more than the weapons. Very fantasy-based.

In my opinion combinig PvP and PvE in a single game is too much of a task. Here PvP feels like an unnecessary addition to make the game appeal to amateurs of competitive shooters. Most players though do it only if needed in a quest or weekly bounty for xp and bright dust.

I've tried PvP in this game. It's okay but not really extraordinary. However, more the anything I'm kinda lost in this game currently. It's a lot of fun but there is so much going on and I'm not sure where to start. Some people recommend tackling the main story while others say it's better to start farming for gear.
Vand Dec 21, 2019 @ 12:25pm
Main story doesnt give you anything anymore but it tells you whose that NPC, whats going on or who the heck are you fighting.
You can get Campaign story from amanda in the hangar,
Start with Red War > Curse of Osiris > Warmind.

If you dont care about that, you can just start farming gears from any activity or strikes.
