Ammo loss after switching weapons
When I switch weapons of one type (kinetic, energy, power) I lose all ammo for that type. I'm using an auto-rifle, switch to a sniper, and all my ammo is gone. I realize sniper rifles take special ammo even if they are kinetic, but when I switch back to my auto-rifle, still, all of my ammo is gone. Anyone else had this issue?

thats because you disposed of that amo since you didnt need it anymore and since you didnt have any specialamo then you dont have any same for switching subclasses you switch from solor to void all the energy you gathered is throwwn away to then gather the new energy. think of it like gathering magic energy if you only colect a certain amount of earth magic then you are not collecting water magic energy so when youi change you have to start anew

Yeah, the game doesn't like you making proper use of your inventory, for some reason. If you switch weapons with different ammo types, odds are their ammo is gone, instead of the game doing the right thing and saving a percentage of the ammo type for when you swap to a gun that has it.

it is one of they update to avoid ppl stocking weapon and switch out whenever they find enemy with different shield type, for some reason.

Its to prevent people from say, switching their sword to a rocket launcher and back again. It also forces you to strategize and choose what to bring. This isn't DOOM, you cant just swap weapons like that.

And yet you can swap abilities like that, even though they supposedly take way longer to get than any ammo type and are to be used more sparingly. There is more strategy in picking the right weapon for the right situation and being rewarded for it, than being artificially limited because your sword power ammo percentage doesn't translate into a rocket launcher's ammo percentage when you switch between them.

Yes, and your abilities reset when you switch them.
Your super charge and all your abilities go to zero charge.
If you swap grenades, grenade charge goes down to zero.

Mine only do so when I swap subclasses, but never when I swap them inside the same subclass.

I’m pretty sure that this is an intentional game mechanic so that you can’t keep switching your loadout mid-encounter during difficult activities.

Then why doesn't it reset ammo when changing weapons inside the same slot and ammo type? Why can I swap grenades and class abilities without resetting their cooldown? Why can I freely mod weapons and armor, as well as what I mentioned above, during combat? If the mechanic is supposed to do what you say it does, why is it incomplete and harder NTOs actually have a proper equipment lock?

It doesn't reset entirely, but you do lose most of your ammo when changing to a weapon of the same type.
