No way to level-up masterwork weapons?
You can increase the power level of 'regular' legendary weapons by infusion, however I have a couple of masterwork weapons (one legendary, one exotic) which don't have an infusion option. Is there any way to increase the power level of these?

Also both these weapons have a kill counter - does this serve any purpose?

You mind telling us the name of these weapons ? These are prob. Quest weapons or smth like that, maybe an exotic shotgun in the heavy slot ? (Acrius)

If they're what I think they are then they are "Old" Mods 1.0 weapons which happened to drop pre-masterworked. Nothing you can do except dismantle them unfortunately.

idk why bungie hasn't updated everything in the loot table instead of just some things.

One is an exotic hand-cannon called 'Crimson', the other a legendary smg called 'Mini-tool'. Pretty fond of them both, so would like to be able to level them up.

The mini tool will definitely be like I described.

You should be able to dismantle and then reacquire the Crimson from your collection, and the version you get from there should be infuseable.

Thanks - will check that out, though I don't recall seeing Crimson in my collection last time I checked.

The Crimson that I have currently also has a count of precision kills which apparently improves the stats when it gets to 100%.

That's the catalyst. Progress on that isn't lost when you dismantle the weapon. And everything's added to your collection the moment you get it so it'll be in the Exotics tab of your collections by sheer virtue of the fact you already have one.

Well for some reason I can't find Crimson in my collection (nor is another exotic weapon I picked up on another character - Lord of Wolves). The legendary Mini-Tool is in my collection however.

Have noticed that both my masterworks now have the infusion option (hooray!) - pretty sure it wasn't there before. So problem solved!

I bought this game in 2017, and I also wonder about my masterworks and mods. For me it looks like a dead end. Am I right?

Did you check the exotic tab in your collections?

Only saw 3 tabs for kinetic, special and power (with the ammo type symbols), in the weapons section. Will have another look - maybe was looking in the wrong place - thanks.
