What's the point of Deathbringer?
I just got it after a long grind. It looks cool but it's really quite lacking. You have to time the explosion, then there is a delay before kills, and the projectiles can lock onto unintended enemies. The only situation I could see this weapon doing anything useful is alone with a boss in an open space. It's pretty bad in PvP due to the delay, and just isn't reliable enough for an Exotic Heavy slot. I could do better with a legendary rocket launcher.

It isn't particularly great but it's a fun weapon. You just shoot it above a group of enemies and it rains death down on them. I quite like using it when I'm playing some of the more chilled out activities.

ive used it just fine. you can hit larger enemies with the initial projectile and all the secondary ones will hit that target.

Gambit.

It can do much more total damage than other RLs heavies if you manage to hit the target.

If you thought Deathbringer was a long grind you're in for a treat.

I like it as a one of in survival, since you get 2 shots from heavy drop. I think its useful for hard angles that guns just don't get at in PvP, but that's just me

it's great for invading or invaders in gambit...people usually never see it coming.

I've just tried it in Gambit, it's pretty good for burning down the Primeval as well as throwing it into a bunch of enemies as invader. It got me a triple kill. I'm starting to like it a little more now.
