I'm not sure if you can get this in f2p but the Duke MK. 44 with [ricochet rounds/high cal rounds, outlaw/rapid hit, rampage/kill clip] is an absolute beast.
Otherwise, the midnight coup or service revolver are decent guns.

Duke MK drops in F2P - I have had many (like around 6) after migrating to Steam; don't think it has anything to do with my coming from B.net though. I have yet to purchase Forsaken & Shadow Keep or the Season Pass (all of which will happen), so many weapons drop for F2P players.

Duke & Better Devils are both contenders; don't know much about Crimson though. Have used Sunshot and the Season Pass Pistol Erianna's Vow with some success as well.

idk if there's better legendary hand cannon for pvp

Spare ration if you have potato aim. Mainly cause it has high aim assist and if you get a god roll on it, it works well for mid range

Idk man, I've used it to good effect to down someone with Ace of Spades numerous times.

And it got hit harder by the Hand Cannon range nerf than any other HC in the game.

Best PvP HCs right now are Spare Rations, Austringer, Rose, Better Devils or if you can get used to it Duke.

I love HCs. I can't speak for the current *meta* of destiny 2 PVP.

But try finding one. ANY one. That you like.

From what I hear Crimson got hit pretty hard by the HC patch. But if you engage at the right range it's still a powerhouse.

I personally wouldn't lean too hard on exotic HCs. Grind for a nice Vanguard or Forge HC with stat rolls that you like. Try them out and if you do well consider masterworking them.

As an aside, don't entirely disregard "autoloading holster" rolls. As a lover of handcannons, if you can't significantly buff your reload speed then auto holster is actually pretty useful. Empty your HC and then switch to something else. Come back to your HC maybe 5-10 secs. later and emtpy it again.

EDIT: And if you have two auto-loading HCs then you can probably disregard reloads entirely.
