What weapon is good for each class
I'm new to the game so I'm trying to think of what type of guns should I be using for each of the three classes as I level up. For the hunter, I defiantly thinking long-range powerful guns like a sniper rifle and hand cannon. For the tank since he seems to be about getting up in everyone's faces, I was thinking of shotguns, submachine guns, sidearms, and swords. But for the warlock, I can't see what guns would be most useful to him. So tell me what kind of guns you guys go with for each class.

The game's quests will be pushing you into using them all. So you really should be focusing more on which is the best weapon you currently have of each type and just plan on trying them all for a while.

And you might as well earn something as you figure that, so make sure to do the weapon master's bounties and the bounties of the character on the planet you are exploring.

it doesn't make sense to categorize it like this, you should choose your loadout for the activity you are doing and not for a class

I use whatever compliments a build and/or whatever I need to get a certain activity done and would recommend the same to anyone else. Example:

I normally run Nezarec's Sin void warlock with a SMG that has Demolitionist and anti-barrier rounds with a breach refractor mod on it to power grenade recharge for damage and the artifact void grenade debuff.

Unfortunately that build didn't do well in this week's 950 Ordeal due to the enemies exclusively and frequently using arc and fire shields throughout, so I dropped it for Palpatine arc spec and Eriana's Vow with an arc MG. Smooth sailing after that.

Titan: Pulse (long range) , Shotgun/SMG(close range)
Hunter: Sniper/pulse (long range), SMG (close range)
Warlock: fusion rifle (long camping option), smg (close range)

this is my opinion tho

not counting a few exotic items the weapons you use have nothing to do with your class

I don't think there is a reason why anyone shouldn't use Izunagi Burden for PvE other than the vow quest.

Weapons have literally nothing to do with the class you're playing.

It doesnt exacly works like that, its all up to you. Hunter got 2/3 subclasses that can go full melee and be good at it, so shotguns can works too. Titans can be also good backline, nah, even its "meta" to have backline titan who would create protective dome (aka bubble) around vulnerable teammates and sunbreaker with sol hammers. And warlocks also can be melee or range depends on what you want to do - for melee we got stormcaller in base spec and voidwalker with nova warp, while chaos reach, dawnblade and nova bomb are ranged option. And also there is support option with radiant well (healing + buffing). And im not negating your choices/preferrences, just wanted to mention that

If you want warlock for heals then Lumina would be awesome choice, if want go void warlock then graviton lance + nazerec sin (helmet) would be epic, as GL gives you massive AoE dmg bound to void, and nazerec sin regen your skills faster for each void kill (both from skills and weapons)

honestly, whatever loadout you like works. i personally have smg/shotty/RL loadout for pve stuff which i just toss on other characters when i'm playing them through DIM. for pvp, i tend to load smg/scouts or whatever bounty i got if i feel like doing that and i do the same thing - i just swap weapons between all of them. for more specific activity like strikes...it's very dependent on the strike. often, my smg/shotty works but sometimes i slot in a sniper because i'm lacking range. As a new player, I would just suggest trying out different weapons that you get from drops and see which ones works well with you. specific class builds do exist but that's more about working around exotic equipment than just simple weapon loadout.
