So how many people here want to play a Raid but have a Fear of angering the players too much? or beign useless due to a disability?

Im scared of playign a raid because im mute and cant deal with callouts. This is easily fixable buts its still smth keepign em from raiding.

I was like that. I was very happy to find the Destiny 2 PC LFG Discord group. One channel is called 'Sherpa' and is specifically there to help people learn the raid encounters. I got my first Last Wish and Scourge of the Past completions done that way. I have problems with one eye and my right hand, if I can do it I am sure many others with similar conditions can. Being mute, that might be more of a problem, but as you say it is fixable. You'd just have to be given a role that only needs you to hear/react.

Someone will surely post the link, I'm not quite sure how to link you to it.

Most raids can be done without a full fireteam meaning not everyone has to be on call out duty, if you express this to people and they're understanding then it shouldn't be an issue.

I just dislike voice chat. I’d raid if I wasn't required to talk on the phone while doing so.

These games have had an identity crisis from the start it's probably why they're not even more popular than they are now, don't know if they want to be an MMO (they're not) at times with activities such as raids or just a co-op game you can jump into with random people any time and get stuff done.

I guess it's some weird hybrid.

Man F that. Don't be nervous on account of neurotic tweens with baggage.

Just be up front that you're new to raids, you can follow direction and if you're not that good of an FPS person just let them know. If that isn't good enough then they can disagree to take part in the raid. If they agree and start to whine they should have realized what they signed up for.

The raids aren't that hard, but before joining you should do the bare minimum yourself and watch video on a run of the place so you'll at least know what to expect. Makes a huge difference.

Belly Of The Beast
Complete the Leviathan raid.
14.5%
7% for LW. It looks like quite a lot of people gave up on raids

There're deaf/mute clans doing raids, so it's definitely possible. Paying attention to chat once in a while is usually not a problem for any decent team

its a shame the raids are some of the funnest content

What's even more troubling is that how many of those people who did complete the raid go in for second or thirds, I'm betting a good portion were one and done.

We tried to do the gauntlet in the prestige version of levi the other day with two people that didn't use mics. Suffice to say it didn't work out. If you practice a lot on that specific part? Sure, would work fine with simple letter call outs etc, but the raids are designed around communication. They aren't hard, but they are mechanic heavy.

Play in a sherpa raid, tonight I'm doing a sherpa run of Eater of worlds you can join for that. I've played and guided many many people hundreds even through my time in destiny 1 and destiny 2. I usuually find that if people want to learn they won't mess up too much.

wow, same here!! and most of people replies with "u can join that mute guild famous from the videos completing raids" , as if the only option was having all the deaf / mute people in a same guild xD.

I am even afraid of joining some friendly sherpa that accepts me to join even if I can talk or read, just to end up failing and have him blame me, or the rest of the team blame him for accepting me xDD.

I play since d1 release as a lone wolf, and while not ideal (in other games where voice is not required and text chat is very used, I am very talkative and even have funded clans, so its not like I love to be a forced lone wolve in d2 hehe).

Tbh I dont miss participating in raids, did a few times with my previous clan on d2 release, funded by me and mute friendly, and still got issues with people, making elitist discord groups (in a mute friendly clan xD) and ended up in a...war haha.

What I miss is having some exotic locked behind raids.

I would like a way to obtain them outside the raid, even if it was so long or expensive that people who could use voice chat would prefer attempting to get it in the raid than with the alternate, lone wolf friendly method.

Also, some better text chat tools, and an ingame group finder would help a lot, as in some mmos where I can post an "lfg" ad and inform others that I am mute. Who knows, maybe we could find similar people with that, without needing to join a "deaf and mute guild" or go to discord to "beg" at someone to accept me in a raid group even if I can only use text

Don't fear raids or the people, Watch Videos on youtube to prepare yourself for the raid, and when you searh for a party just tell them that you watched videos on youtube to prepare yourself and that you are not 100% sure how everything works, if they then remove you or refuse to explain things then it is 100% their fault.

People are overly aggressive on Raids, usually because they feel that they are the real deal for doing them and that they are the real hero.

Then there is Twitch streams, some offer sherpas, sherpas are those that get your through the raid if you aren't too braindead, they don't carry you, they explain the raid and the mechanics in detail, how to do things and so on.

Ive been doing sherpa runs for garden a lot lately, i've been patient enough to do 9 hour gardens with absolutely clueless people so if you're ever up for the challenge you can add me :)
