Just got the Ace of Spades, love it, but need a good secondary to pair with it. Any ideas?

recluse (pinnacle weapon from the crucible), mindbenders ambition (you get it from the hollowed lair nightfall) or loaded question (pinnacle weapon from the vanguard)

Honestly it depends on what you like for a secondary. Would recommend a special weapon as you have Ace as your primary. Shotguns/Fusion rifles/Nade launchers for the close to mid ranged Major Murder, Sniper for further back.
if you're going for a sniper tho, the energy gambit sniper rifle can roll with 4th times the charm AND firing line

I'd opt for a Recluse but if you don't wanna do the comp grind, which is understandable, the Subjunctive is actually kinda good I find. You can get it from the Vex Offensive as a random drop.

I personally prefer auto-rifles though. Age Old Bond is pretty good, looks ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nuts as well. You can get it from the Last Wish raid iirc. Other than that maybe I dunno, Valakadyn? It drops from Banshee turn-ins I think.

Ace is a PVP weapon. I'd usually pair it with retold tale or beloved.

There are much better uses of your exotic weapon slot in PVE.

Personally, the Ace fulfills the role of trash clearing, so I'd pick a weapon for both special ammo and to deal with tougher enemies, like possibly a fusion rifle, or a shotgun. If you want to reinforce Ace's long range, you can go with a sniper rifle. If you don't care about having two primaries, you could also go with Oxygen from the Vanguard (double dragonfly on your loadout), or a fast-firing close-range weapon, like an automatic sidearm, or an SMG (the latter would be my pick between the two, since sidearms are just eh, and full auto just makes them a bit less eh).
