But be warned, its a nightmare.
Have you PLAYED PvP?
90% of the maps are designed for 4 players, so you'll get shot most of the times as you spawn
Rampant balance issues with toxic metas.
And the structure? A mess.
Comp REVOLVES around heavy ammo. It's not who can come out on top with their tools, it's who gets the ammo for hammerhead first.
Also the devs force PvP to get OP pinnacle weapons such as the recluse wich is PvE meta, yes, PvE, and you have to play PvP to get it, that's why most of the playerbase cheeses these weapons by filling up lobbies with friends and boosting victories to rank up glory score and unlock these weapons.
IT IS THAT BAD.
PvE side, it's one of the best and most complete games with content being added on monthly basis and big content drops every 3 months.
In a game with hundreds of weapons and armors, and dozens of powerful, unique exotics, there are always bound to be a few 'meta' combinations that can give you an edge, but every weapon and weapon type can be used effectively - mostly they fall into about 3 different subtypes for each type of weapon, and armor perks don't do THAT much, for the most part so everything is VIABLE, but not everything is OPTIMAL
Destiny's pvp is NOT a super-competitive, hyper-balanced shooter like overwatch or whatever, It's a challenge to test yourself against other players - i'd take it pretty casually.
overall, i like it, but you'll occasionally come up against sweaty 4-stacks. For the low, low price of free (soon), it's a solid pvp experience is not a little...chaotic.
