How to get Fighting Lion?

Anyone know how I get the fighting lion weapon? Can it be obtained as a random drop in Crucible PvP? Also, I presume the “Festival of the Lost” method only works in October, right?

Its complete RNG and can drop from anything that gives loot/xp. Outside of nightfall ordeal you have limited amount or exotic engrams per week. So pray to whatever and hope it wont take you a year to drop it.

Yes. I had Telesto drop from a crucible match and Arbalest dropped from just giving Shaxx tokens. It's not guaranteed though and I haven't had a single catalyst drop from the crucible.

What about “idle forge farming”? Will that work? I read on the internet that it’s generally considered okay to do if you use low power-level gear. Glad I saved my wrecked titan armor...

Anyway, I can just farm a ton of resources there overnight, then cash them in at a vendor to level up my reputation; eventually, doing that will drop an exotic engram instead of a legendary one, right?

You now no longer get resources if you fail the first part of the forge, so forge idling no longer works. I hear it can still farm chocolate coins (for Eva's purple goody bag) but the other problem is that since all gear was boosted to 750, you'll get grouped with people trying to do it for real. There's no way to drastically lower your power.

It’s also a boring way to play the game. Better to do something productive and pray to the RNG gods.

I just thought of a crazy AFK farming method!
Maybe if go afk right in the middle of an area where both players and random spawning enemies are very often (like the one near the standard landing zone in the EDZ)!
Other players are constantly killing those enemies, and if I’m not mistaken on how lost items are sent to the postmaster, each engram dropped nearby should be sent to said postmaster!
All I need to do is come back later to pick up all the lost items from the postmaster.

This might only work if my character is alive while near the loot, but based on what I’ve seen, other players should be reviving my character frequently enough just because they’re nearby.

I can’t wait to try this!

Nope, postmaster has limit of 30? or so items.

There is no way to actually farm and exotic item as there are artificial limits on how many exotic engrams you can get per week. You can farm it with all 3 characters to get more engrams, but thats it.
