Offline Single-Player
Hi,

I am always afraid to try live service games which might die after a few years. Is there a way to play this in offline single-player?

Not at all. Currently the game does not even launch to the menu if you aren't online. When you do play, all public spaces and "open-world" areas are online and open to other players. If you launch story missions solo they will stay that way.

That said, Destiny has been active since late 2014, and most likely won't be going away anytime soon.

Hi, thanks for asking this. Most parts of the game is multi-player but some times you play by yourself offline. Not a whole lot of it thought, so if your hoping for a fully offline single-player experience, this may not be the game for you. But if your fine with Online Single-Player there's a lot of stuff you can do in this game solo or with friend as you choose.

Oh dear... well thanks for the info. i will probably buy it anyway. Is it good in single-player/coop? I don't usually trust PVP games on Steam (I got burned by CoD WWII) but I would like to find a new single-player/pve coop game.

No because this pile of trash is meant as a microtransaction money pit, There are plenty of games out there that won't oof the second the company gets tired of it.

You must be online in order to play the game at all, even if you are by yourself.
