Blink so inconsistent.
I don't if it's because there is a timer before you can use it again, since it is a single use jump, but blink is so inconsistent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and sometimes it just decides to fail on me whilst making a jump in PvE activities, and results in me dying.

Why is it so inconsistent? Is it meant to be inconsistent? If there really is a timer, they could just make it so that it resets as soon as you hit the floor.

what do you mean by back-to-back? also can't they just make it so it resets when you hit the ground?

If you could blink repeatedly after hitting the ground then it would be far too strong

How? It would work like any other jump. There is no reason to use blink now because of the inconsistency. Does Astrocyte Verse fix this?

How would that be like any other jump? if you could constantly blink out of existence, would be insanely broken in pvp

If you could constantly blink then it would let you be incredibly evasive in pvp and hard to keep track of. And yeah astrocyte verse lets you blink more, longer range and keep your radar after blink + ready weapons faster.

Normal blink is fine too though, its fantastic for escaping shotgun apes since you can blink backwards

used to be a time where blink was the very reason you'd get clapped by shotgun apes

How about you just stop playing warlock and stop ruining the game for other classes.

It amuses me how all new players seem to think that the classes that they don't play are overpowered, lol.

As others have stated there is indeed an internal cool-down after blinking twice. They really should have shown it as a "debuff" on the left side of the screen when it's on cool-down. Astrocyte Verse reduces the cool-down duration, makes you blink further, makes it so you ready your weapon so you can shoot earlier and leaves the radar up during your blink. It's only obtainable through random drops and exotic engrams (like the final season pass holder exotic engram and Xur's) I managed to get mine in an engram from Xur two weeks ago.

TBH I don't recommend using blink for PVE even with Astrocyte Verse (as there's better exotics for PVE), but if you really like it then you are going to have issues with some platforming. As for PVP it's far better with Astrocyte and you're better off with burst glide for mobility over normal blink, but it still can save you in certain situations to help you get behind cover and as others have mentioned to blink away from shotgun users, although if they locate you they can still usually shoot you faster than you can shoot them with normal blink. I admittedly stuck with blink even without Astrocyte's for PVP just because I enjoy using it, but I always switch off of it for PVE content.

It would be too good if it had no cool-down but as I mentioned before they really should have a means of telling you when your blink is on cool-down as it is confusing when you first use it. Sadly people have apparently been asking for this for years and Bungie has not done anything.

Yeah right now the only thing OP is OEM Titans and Arc Battery Hunters are pretty annoying too. Titan's mostly one hit melees are annoying, but in the grand scheme of things I can't really call them OP (although nothing like being one shot out of Nova Warp against shield bash) but they admittedly anger me.

Short version of what you're experiencing: you can use it twice close together, then there's a cooldown. Prevents cheesing.

Blink, blink, wait 3-5 seconds. Repeat.
