cant play "Spark" mission with my friend for some reason

Spark clearly says cooperative 1-3 players but when he and i are in a fireteam it says too many players choose another activity. can anyone help me out with this?

we are both at spark in the red war quests but it wont let us play it. please help. thanks

For some reason, Bungie changed the way missions work in New Light. Now, all fireteam members need to be on the same quest step or the mission wont launch. If any of your team already completed that mission or have not yet gotten to it, your out of luck.

we are literally on the same quest step. complete "spark"

Finish Spark by yourselves and the game should let you co-op the rest of the campaign.

i was hoping we could do it together. but i guess it might be the only way. thanks ill do that
but i find it incredibly anoyying because the mision literally says "cooperative 1-3 players" on it

It's always been the last campaign mission that you are forced to run solo, no idea why they would change the info for New Light.
Don't worry too much about it, it's a pretty short and easy one.

yeah i remember, i came over from battlenet platform. but my friend is completely new so i wanted to do as much as i could with him. waiting sucks. thank you for your help

Spark has been that way since the beginning. It's one of the few missions that you can't take multiple people through.

yes that made sense to me. but it saying its cooperative made me want to look more into it. oh well
