Raids without voice chat.
Is it ever done? I started Destiny 2 recently. Never played the original. No idea what the raids are like, but I currently don't use voice chat. I'm wondering if Destiny 2 raids are as intense and involved as raids in some other mmo's, or more casual and require less communication, like other game modes.

it depends there are a need for at least three in the first raid for the callouts and 4 for the harder version. I find the raids nice to do as a group with friends, have not done the others since release of them
The raids are very communication intense. The Leviathan raid alone is heavy on the comms.

Crown of Sorrow can get very chaotic as can the Garden of Salvation. Text chat can be used to document certain elements of the raids, but voice chat beats text every single time.

dont forget LW(Last wish) with all the wishes and such, and if one of ur teammates has no mic it can be really chaotic at the vault area imo.

Depends on the Raid. Think I did this once back in Y1 on Levi. I would just use the chat system and called everything ahead of time, as soon as we entered, for all encounters: "Gardens R2, Gauntlet Puncher, Pools R2, Throne Room". something to that effect.

But yeah can get pretty crazy on like Gauntlet and Gardens area. Haven't done most of anything post Warmind on Raid but guessing those are more complex.

Personally, I've cleared Leviathan, EoW, Last Wish, Scourge, and Crown of Sorrows without a microphone, but I was in the voicechat with my clan to hear callouts. It's doable but it can get tricky

You need 6 for prestige everyone has to run gauntlet

What about guided raids? I just ran across that (why are these things so hard to find in this game? It's like Bungie expects you to stumble across everything by accident. Well, it is an mmo...) It shows chat required. I would assume voice chat. I'm wondering if listening to voice chat is sufficient, and use text to respond.

depends on the raid

You really do need voice chat for most of them. There are clans of deaf gamers that clear all of them using special callout software, but most raids are done in Discord teams.

Try the D2 PC LFG server. There's a special channel there for first time raiders.

Possible with a dedicated team and lots of experience but it's not optimal.
Take the gauntlet for example, you can spend 15 minutes getting orbs but as soon as you all run the gauntlet and go for the same orb, you're asking for trouble.
