How is Thorn Good in PVP?

I've been having a lot of fun with this weapon in PVE but I dont see the mass appeal it has to quite a few people in PVP, its time to kill is too high compared to other handcannons and its body shot damage is abysmal without Soul Devourer. I've lost every gunfight against other handcannons so far because this weapon is unreliable without its buff. This is not the "2 tap monster" I've been told it is. How am I supposed to use this weapon if not for aggressive assaults like with every other hand cannon?

Keep in mind that Ace of spades is also a handcannon that works better after getting a kill with it.. Stat wise it's better than thorn.

Nothing works against it. The DoT effect doesn't subtract anything from the gun, it just adds a neat effect. If you look at its stats, Thorn is good compared to other 150 HCs. Same impact, the range might be a bit low, but someone did a video that showed how little the range stat matters after the nerf. If you can't pick up the soul after a kill, then just don't go for it, you don't need to rush in blindly just to pick up the orb. All this time you assume that base Thorn is an underwhelming gun that needs the orb to be good, and I'm telling you it's a good gun that needs the orb to become great.

Nope, it only buffs your next 6 bullets and reloading speed AFTER getting a kill with it.. Ace requires some degree of skill to be decent with.. Last word might be more your thing since you can hip fire fast with it to get kills... Crimson is also nice with it's 3 burst making it a small pule rifle.. And crimson hast that nice healing buff upon kills.

The exotic perk is enhanced kill clip and enhanced dragonfly, so by your standarts it's bad, I guess

I mean I use all the hand cannons and there will always be a better gun in every game no matter what you play, thorn fills a role well. but its Last Word or Ace of Spades I find Thorn to be just fine it just helps if you hit head if you are someone who cant keep hitting head than Thorn is probably not for you I feel hand cannons reward headshots and if you cant do that then maybe you can try the auto rifle triple kill thing, don't know how that will go seeing how auto rifles are actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Last word basicly let's you spray people with hip fire.. It's one of the best handcannons and overal weapons in the game.

Automatic hand cannon with an extremely low time-to-kill. Proper way to use it is to mainly hip-fire. It's the best hand cannon in PVP.

Yes because of it's rapid fire, but headshots will always help more tho.

Yeah it's pretty much the only good hand cannon for people that can't get head shots.
