New type of cheating in D2 found in crucible
We won the first round, not even a slight contest. 3 lives to a wiped team

teammate gets dc`d from game and loses connection, his game crashes, and so does his steam client shortly after.

then i win the next round with a blueberry, hats off to the guy hes a great sniper.

i cleaned most of them though, and do you know what happens to me?

start of the third round, i get dc`d, lose connection, and also shortly after have both steam and destiny crash.

im not sure what exactly they are using, but this new type of hack is quite malicious, unlike a regular DDoS it is crashing the steam client and D2, someone should probably look into fixing it.

It seems to cause the games ram to rapidly expand (at one point, the game was using 12gb of ram).

for the mean while, heres a name and shame for the enemy team

I remember this sort of thing happening years and years ago, so it's definitely possible. In 2006 I actually had a URL which if clicked would cause a massive memory leak, and crash your computer in moments. That one was fun on MSN!

These kind of things happen through security bugs in windows. I am positive without any doubt its not possible to do that anymore.

As fast as they fix one, another is discovered and exploited. P2P networks are particularly vulnerable, which is why I've never liked them.

If that what you say is the truth and it really is a new cheat. How does it work? Maybe you can find a cheat client for destiny 2 that has a feature like that. If not, it's either held private, in testing or it doesn't exist at all and it's your pc.

Packets of data are sent between users with the packets sent through the server to verify those packets.

As this is P2P there is nothing to check and so whatever they're sending is unverifiable by a normal joe.

As to how? I'm not sure...
Its p2p, i doubt bungie is stupid enough to not create a protection against super big packets or similar. So either theres a bug that causes that protection to not work or OPs story is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. OR, bungie is stupid and doesn't have a protection.

ok, why would i want to go looking for a cheat client.

first off, if i did find one, and had it on my pc, i would probably get banned and have to longsplain that to bungie.

secondly, its not my job to look for cheats, i dont get paid to dig around on tor or the closed end chat sites for this kind of thing.

thirdly, do you expect it to be public? what on earth. If it was public d2 would probably have went down for a patch to fix it allready, and these people would have been long ago banned.

Actually you sound like you have major issues with your PC or internet judging by your review that has already been discussed. Also sounds like you always blame the problems you are having on the game. I imagine this is just more of the same. By the way I have not had one issue installing or playing the game..Not one. That is why people are giving you a hard time about it. Because it does not in any way look like a legit issue. MY game crashed I was hacked...help me.

cs:go is the laughing stock of FPS games, its only popular because its a bit of a classic now if this game were as bad as that, it would have crashed hard on launch.
Im not here to discuss csgo. Im here to help you, but first you gotta verify your story as actually true. Show us proof, show us crash logs, show us hardware monitoring data. We cant help by "Omg this game crashes, has to be hackers!!!".

"post your proof" ok, so bungie dont give out network data, because you know, data protection exists.

please think before you type.

You don't have video proof of your crash?

You didn't send a crash report to Bungie?

You cannot blame faulty hardware on "hackers."

Stop being a pleb and get a better gaming computer.
how will a video be useful for an overflow crash, the recording would also crash at the same time.

to be honest, i dont work for them, i dont have to send them a crash report, and im fairly sure it does that automatically anyway.

if i had faulty hardware i would have issues with anything i tried to play.

SandTag, were you by any chance getting the weasel error code?
nope. i did see alot of people having issues with that after the hotfix but i was lucky enough to avoid it.

what planet do you live on. i cant give you any of that because i am not actively logging hardware data without a reason to. do you think i work for bungie or something? funfact i dont.

if you know where the crashlogs are, i can go and look for them, i am fairly certain that this game handles them automatically though.

bungie does not provide adequate protection for its p2p system, Ddosing, even on consoles is quite common in comp.

Flooding you with packets is not an overflow of your CPU ..it just saturates your connection so you can no longer receive packets from the game server. Its not going to crash other apps.

No its not common. In no way is it common. It exists in a few cases possibly.

ok allow me to spell this out in the most blunt way possible;

YOU

DO NOT

UNDERSTAND

anything about the topic, have not bothered to check up on facts, keep replying with unrelated stuff and try to insult me, are contributing nothing to the thread, derailing the thread, constantly replying with nonsense like "oh this game isnt p2p" then go "oh but i really understand this topic and game" in the next reply.

read the thread, look at the top reply then look at your own replies. If you get the idea, dont reply.

No I am talking realistically. You are talking nonsense about being hacked because your game crashed. Your the one making dumb statements. The last thing you stated was a Its causing an overflow and crashing all your other apps. Like its an Operating System crash. Now that is not possible. People are just correcting you on how ridiculous statements like that are. Its called a conversation in a public forum.

i more than double the minimum requirements, also how is this relevant to the topic? can you at least talk about the issue in the OP.

Not hackers, it's a bug or an issue with your PC. Maybe you forgot to update your drivers even...

just how dense are you idiots here.

when i couldent get the game working, i was forced to try all of the options for self help first (fun fact: none of them worked) one of the hotfixed sorted my issue.

my drivers are up to date, the pc has been recently defragged, scanned, had its updates and has been cleaned of junk files and disused apps on startup.

This guy is obviously lying. Hopefully a moderator comes along to lock this thread and ban the OP for purposely trolling and starting a flame war because he's bored.

Unless you have proof then no one can help you. If you really believed there are cheaters in the game then you would contact Bungie support.

Considering you keep saying you don't have to send anything to anyone because you don't work for Bungie is just an excuse to cover your lying.

Only liars blow smoke when there is no fire.
ive allready asked a moderator to come along and ban all the people who are comming here, adding nothing to the conversation and trying to roast me for their amusement, if you want your profile reported, keep going.
