[SOLVED] Forsaken Legendary Edition Physical Copy
EDIT: I honestly forgot I made this post but the next day I went back in and explained the situation and was able to get it returned. I’m unsure if this is something everyone will be able to do as I work at Target at the guest service so they know me and know I wasn’t trying to cheat anything.

Retail stores are still selling destiny 2 forsaken keys at $59.99 for the battle.net launcher which technically can still be redeemed but only do this if you haven’t already transferred your account as you’re only able to transfer your licenses once.

TL;DR: I wasn’t able to find the research on this, so here’s for anyone that is trying to research it; *DON’T BUY THE RETAIL VERSION OF DESTINY 2*. Neither Bungie, Steam, or Battle.net will help you with this issue and It’s incredibly murky waters on if you’ll be able to return it easily. The fact they’re still being sold while they’re essentially useless is baffling to me.

Original Post: Okay, this is something that is incredibly confusing to me.

I work at Target and today was my payday. I decided I wanted to buy Destiny 2 Forsaken Legendary Edition (With pricematch and my discount of course) So i could get back into destiny 2 with the extra forsaken stuff.

Well, I have already migrated my account to steam (obviously) and was told by the guy in electronics that It'll still work... I get home now and read that any Battle.net codes redeemed after the PC migration won't transfer over as it's a one-time license transfer...

So.. Now I'm stuck with a destiny 2 Forsaken Legendary Collection that I've already opened so I can't return and seems that I can't use... Unless I'm missing something?

Any help would be very appreciated :plat2heart:

Hi, I have bought a Forsaken code too, and I am in the same situation, did you solve it?

You’ve essentially bought a product that doesn’t exist any more. Forsaken legendary edition was forsaken + CoO + Warmind. CoO and Warmind are now part of the New Light F2P bundle and the Forsaken bundle that’s available on Steam includes Forsaken + some of the Y2 content.

I have no idea what happens if you try to redeem Forsaken legendary edition now, but this is why I would recommend always buying direct from Steam.

Should've returned it, didn't matter that you opened it, you got sold an unredeemable key, they couldn't resell it anyway.

I just returned it, thanks anyway

That's why you don't buy physical PC games without research anymore.

Who even buys physical copies of games these days? They take up too much physical space and installation from a disc is slower than installation by download.

When you work at a retail store, especially one that price matches the lowest price as well as gets you 15% off, physical copies are the way to go. Just sadly in this instance - Bungie, Blizzard, or whoever (unsure of who handles selling to retail stores) is essentially just screwing their guests. Otherwise Physical copies I will still stick to if I can as I can get a better price that way.

I can see the appeal, they are almost always cheaper than their digital counterparts (which has never made sense to me).
