WINE - Wine Is Not an Emulator.

Proton also is NOT an emulator.

and they are most definitely NOT what you call "Modified Operating System" as per your particular poor choice of wording, just who are you to tell people if they're allowed to have modified their own OS? Who are you to tell what people can and can't have? You don't get to dictate to people if they're allowed to modify their own OS.

Destiny 2 is not compatible with Steam Play's Proton.

Linux is not on the supported specs either. So....yeah.....

Doesn't matter regardless, the fact of the matter is people being able to still run the game just like any other game, native or non-native. This is why Valve pushed for Linux, Wine, Proton (which is still just Wine anyway.)

I’m happy to hear that Valve pushes for it. But that doesn’t mean the game itself is supported....

The developers are in charge of what’s supported and Linux isn’t one of them.

i think they are the program owner and they can dictate to you how you're allowed to play it all day.
I would genuinely like Bungie to reconsider their stance on wine gaming.

Nah, I have a modified windows, my own theme added to it, cause microsoft allows me too. Why should I fall a victim to a ban that is modifying windows via tools that alter alot of stuff? :o

Its one of the few games I have left before I can fully switch over to Linux. Ultimately I'm getting closer to the point where sooner or later anything else will just be discarded. I don't expect bungie to care about the ramblings of one man, but I suspect many are in a similar boat to me.

No tux, no bux.

RIP, was looking forward to playing this game. Manjaro user here. Uninstalled until if and when they reconsider.

Maybe get an OS that's made to play games instead of one supported by people who eat their own Toe Jam.

Steam OS is Linux based, made by Valve, and is made to play games, what's your point?

That's not what they mean by modified OS. They mean modifying it by directly altering Kernel/System files such as through the use of drivers (not signed) and other means to circumvent stuff like, oh I don't know,

Anticheat.
