WTF is going on? Game is so disjointed!
So, like a lot, I have picked up the game for the first time. And I have no idea what is going on.
The story mission points you to side missions, the intro missions(to help you learn the game) have you doing missions that, if you played the Vanilla none F2P game, wouldn't come into the game till far later.

I am playing with a friend who has played vanilla and he is saying that the raids and missions we are being pointed to, and being given the story for while doing them, make no sense because the F2P game is making us to them right away when they should opening up in order and further into the game.

It seems all i'm doing is talking to people, getting bounties and aimlessly shooting stuff. And I'm actively trying to hear all the story parts and mission briefs.

Also he claims that, unlike vanilla, everything is opened up, you are meant to work threw a quest zone to level up and unlock the next planet. Here you can just do one quest and have access to the 3rd planet almost right away, so now all those missions are out of order, and to go along with this, starting at a boosted power level? You are meant to work your way up but we have been fast tracked to almost the max, making all these early missions a complete cake walk.

I understand this is more then likely because the devs are now treating Destiny 2 as a demo, get a new audience, let them fly threw the game and feel powerful doing so, shovel all the content down them asap so that will enjoy it, be all caught up and buy the expansion. But....I feel so OP, so there is no challenge so the game is kinda meh. I have no idea going on so I can't even enjoy the story because its all over the place and given to me at once, and a little side note, the tutorials really arn't that clear about all these things its shovelling down me.

Am I the only one who is as bewilder as I? Do you also feel the same or have somethings that just don't feel right to you?

Oh, one last thing, whoever thought it was a good idea to have the warlock not able to jump as high as the other classes do he cant move as fast or climb was well (or at all in some cases) as the others is an idiot.

Honestly I wish you people would just read the boards.. its already said in 15000 other threads, to do story missions, go to amanda in the tower....

Hey up , yea you’re buds right , however I don’t think he’s doing you any favours going on about how it used to be or should be still even if I agree on some of it , just complicates things even more for you , keep it simple dude , learn how to use you’re quest tracker , you can still follow the story line , track you’re campaign quest one session then switch to some bounties or something another session , at least until you find you’re groove , enjoy the game

That may be the case, but I don't normaly come to a forum first to find out how a game should be played, thats the games job, if the game is pointing me here there and everywhere and making nothing make sense, then that's on the game. Why label missions as "Introduction" if the quests they are giving you to "Learn the game" are quests from 50% into the game where lore/story wise they make no sense. That's just poor passing choice from the Devs.
The game has been a confuddled mess since day 1. the only saving grace it has is the combat is near flawless. but its just a fps so its not like miracle breaking or anything.

Mmo's that require a phone app to group/chat are pretty lame to say the least.

I mean you say that, but these are the guys that made Halo, I expected they would at least make the story and missions flow. Even if the story sucks, at least I could understand it it it flows

I agree, honestly I feel overwhelmed with how much is on my plate and wish the questing was more simplified with this steam version. I don't know what planet of the 5 I have im supposed to be playing in and whatnot but im enjoying it non-less

With how many players are befuddled and dismayed, it was definitely a poor design decision on Bungie's part.

who would have thought just making everybody "End-game" ready right from the start would be a good idea should be fired. Should have left it as it was. Sure it's slower but have it so they could still join and be joined by friends of any level so that way they can pick up what they should be doing at a normal pace.

Agree, I understand why they did it, but it really hasnt helped with new players. Maybe give an option at character creation to either play "Vanilla" or "F2P Boosted" because like I said, I want to enjoy the game and if I like it, maybe I'll by the expantion. But since I'm boosted, everything is to easy and I have no idea whats going on, and thus at the moment not enjoying it.

EDIT: Side note, I think not called quests "Introduction" would help, it makes them seem like they should be played ASAP as part of a tutorial, when all they are or Tutorials to later content. Maybe make them unlock in an order that makes sense instead of all at once?

That's the problem; You shouldn't have to go to the forums to get explanations on the basics.

Navigation is pretty autistic on every level, and it does take a while to get oriented and figure it out, but it's not awful once you do.

Like how the main campaign quest lines are started by obtaining them from the ship vendor in the hanger (tower). :jackiechanconfused: Like. . . .why? just why? That's the one spot nothing ever points you to in town. I thought the Adventures were the main quest line for the longest time. I kept wondering if Destiny 2 even had a main arc.

It wasn't bad for me to overlook and acclimate to, but a lot of people like to throw their hands up the second they can't figure something out and give up, and it would likely be worth Bungie's effort to bolster retention a little bit by cleaning some of the navigation up after having just struck out on their own.

Not entirely sure why autistic gets used as a negative thing so often, especially when it's not even applied correctly. You do realize people with autism value structure above all else, right? This is the opposite of ''autistic''.

Please stop using it as a synonym for ''dumb''.

That being said, the game is extremely disjointed. This isn't how you apply structure to your game.

Easy fix would to make a mandatory quest to the ship right before the game opens up. Would fix a lot of the newbie issues.

Isnt that already a thing?

Apparently not by all the people complaining about the lack of direction for new players.
