"Cannot reacquire randomized gear"

Why do some collection sets even have this on them for? Do players have to find a non-energy drop to get one that can actually be reclaimed? Or is this some way to still make people grind out drops for a new replacement set? For example here I have found 2 parts so far to the prodigal set for titan from the activities on the moon, yet those two parts that have been discovered cannot be reclaimed due to that thing. I don't see what the problem would be to remove that from the set and just do like what they have on the others, allow retrieval of a stock piece without the random stats.

Also a word of warning to those who have the pieces from the current active season, make sure you keep a copy, cause its under that same red banner message. Made the mistake of removing the pieces on my titan character, but if I'm right that vex event during the season should drop replacements.

Honestly this thing makes no sense to me, so if anyone does know why this is even a thing I'd be curious to know what their excuse is for pulling that on us. Dismantling duplicate drops of said items does not clear it either.

What it means is that to get another of that item, you have to get it as a random drop again. Some of the items in the collection tab can be regained assuming you have enough currency for it without having to try and get it to drop again. You can only do this with gear that has set perks and stuff. Gear with randomized perks cannot be gained this way to prevent players from spamming the system until they get the perks they want.

Some gear has a random stat roll. You can get two pieces of gear that are the same but which have a different stat roll. You cannot reacquire the exact same stat roll on that gear by obtaining it from your Collections where all gear you have is recorded and can be reobtained, but you can reacquire that gear from collections without the stat roll.

I was talking about getting a standardized stat piece though of it, a non-randomized version for the so-called random ones with the red banner message. Because unless some of these sets like the ones coming from the current season and those to follow make a return, if they are deleted by accident or anything they'd be gone for good because whoever set up collections banned those from replicating.
