Destiny 2
"Dont bother doing the old campaigns, its not worth it"
Why do people keep saying this?

Millions of dollars went into the creation of these campaigns: art, music, cgi cinematics, etc...

Even if it doesnt give us better gear, I might as well enjoy the spectacle that many artists poured years of their lives into.

The Red legion campaign was very nice is my favorite one. 2nd is forsaken. Rest is boring.
The sad thing is 80% of Destiny's community are sweaty crucible mains, and Bungie caters to them profusely, the people who say the campaign was bad are the same people who rate the CoD games solely based off of the multiplayer game mode and you really shouldn't listen to them. People let endgame content set the bar too high for Destiny and if its anything besides raids, crucible, gambit, dungeons etc, people think "It's not worth it" and "You don't get good loot". It's really Bungie's fault for introducing new light, but what can you do.
Cause they aren't very good.
As a new player I didn't really like forsaken and red war so far and probably wont try the others for a long time. I just kinda lose interest when you don't get anything at all for them. Mission after mission and nothing then complete the full campaign and get nothing. And it only made it worse when I found out you used to get multiple exotics from just one campaign but now they removed them.
I never played Destiny 2 up until a few days ago, my experience so far as a new player is "Go to here do this and do this and complete that, run around the EDZ" and theres a pretty big looming question which is..."WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥ IS GOING ON?"

I dont know the story, the characters, I played Destiny 1 but Destiny 2 New Light feels like you skipped a couple seasons in a TV show and suppose to know whats going on. So Far I started the "Red War Campaign" and now Im getting context now Im getting to know these Characters.

New Light's Introduction is the level from Destiny 1 and NOTHING ELSE, whereas the Red War Campaign actually felt like a REAL introduction to the game but its tuck away behind talking to a NPC.
Does the game still have meditations or any way to redo the campaigns once someone finished them?
Tbf, DLC 1 & 2 had some sucky stories. Forsaken is pretty good though, and the vanilla campaign is arguably better than D1's vanilla (story-wise, not gameplay wise).

The first 3 campaigns are worth it, no question!
As a veteran Destiny 2 player, i would highly recommend doing the campaign first. 1. You learn about a bit about the characters that you meet. 2. You learn about each planet's lores and why they exist. And 3. Newcomers would more likely be less confused about what to do.
