Is Destiny 2 not an open world PVP/PK game?

Hi,


I remember and maybe people misled me but that I believe Destiny was a PK game, so when I looked at Destiny 2 and it advertised it isn't I just wanted to make sure that's true.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking.

If you're asking if you can run around and kill other players then the answer is no, you cannot. Most of the game is exclusively PVE, although there are specific PVP gamemodes and they're pretty good.

It has never been an open world pvp game, it has PvP but its more cage matches akin to halo. Its open world PvE only.

not sure what PK means but the crucible and some parts of gambit are the only PVP parts. the game is a pve game on all the worlds otherwise - what with fallen, taken, hive, cabal and vex, we dont really need to be shooting each other on top out there fighting the darkness and for humanity to survive.

Cool! I feel the very same way and thank you :) I am a PVE player and folks who didn't want me to play told me what they wanted to keep me out. Had it happen with Tabula Rasa private servers too.

Never has, never will be. PVP should be done away with entirely since the "imbalances" of strong weapons make all the crucibabies cry for nerfs even though we are alien-god slaying guardians wielding powerful weapons imbued with space magic.

I WISH destiny had an area like Divisions Dark Zone. I don't really enjoy pvp in d2, and only ever did it for my weekly engram rewards. But if there was a Dark Zone esque area, I'd be pvping all day every day.

It seems to me PVP was once the big deal because the Devs didn't have to do much....

And then the Imba whiners came, and they screamed, they yelled, and didn't spend the money the Devs thought they would.

The PVE players, it seems many of us, come from Stand Alone games. We want that feel while in a game and to have the ability to team up with others. And since Stand Alone has been a large cash cow for a long time, well it's good for Devs to realize the value of PVE so yeah gonna download and thank you all :)
