Why locking content behind paywall?
Couldn't you just include everything in 35 dollar bundle?

For those of us who aren't going to be buying the season pass, how much do they usually charge for the seasonal DLC?
Well seasonal DLC in general is something fairly new to the franchise. But last years seasonal DLC bundle the Forsaken Annual Pass, was 35$ on its own, and 30$ when bundled with forsaken(the bundle was 70$)

This go around, the seasons appear to be roughly 3-4 seasons(depending on whether you count season of the undying) for 25$ when part of the Shadowkeep bundle(digital deluxe 60$)

remeber when you had to play and complete tasks in order to unlock thing? or how you got expansion packs which were much bigger than most dlcs of today

now its a case of - how much can we scalp off customers before they say no?

$10 for three months isn't bad but it's not really content like an expansion. It's more like Rocket Pass or something where you get a boost for paying.

Also I need to throw this out there but Bungie's local pricing in NZ is a total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rip. It's literally double the USD price.

Why did you activate the game on your account then? Why didn't you vote against the game and play something else instead? Hmmmmmmmmmmm... Sounds fairly hypocritical

They give 70% of the game totally free , with no limination , no " under leveling " no nothing its totally free peoples can earn all cosmetics , all shaders , all armors and weapons from black armory etc..etc..etc.. the only contents behind a paywall is the brand new expansion , raid and forsaken " campaign " mode ... but The red war , curse of osiris , the warmind , the menagerie , the black armory , calus raids etc.. The entire PVP all maps all PVP pinacle weapons , the Gambit and gambit prime , are all free to play with no restriction ... Shadowkeep is about 40 $ and does not require other expansion .. and they will Powerlevel everyones to 750 Light level so yeah , i dont know what you expect .. thats over 70 to 80 ish % of the game totally free , no restriction nothing , its a good enough demo to know if tyou want to drop few extra bucks for Destiny shadowkeep and forsaken campaign mode and contents ... ALSO ALL LOCATION INCLUDING THE FORSAKEN LOCATION AND THE MOON WILL BE ACCESSIBLE FOR FREEROAM AND DO BOUNTY ON ... So yeah dont sweat it ... i still think they could have added forsaken to shadowkeep bundle but thats just me

Locking content behind a paywall? Have you seen what companies like Activision, EA, and 2K are doing to their games? Just recently NBA 2K20 released, and there's freakin slot machines in a game that's advertised to young teens and rated for Everyone. You have to gamble away hundreds of dollars to unlock virtual characters. Even Ubisoft is trying to integrate microtransactions into its single player games, like assassin's creed. Imagine being forced to pay real world money for an XP booster, in a single player game.

$35 for a massive expansion is absolutely nothing, when you get the complete full $60 game for free. Now if Destiny 2 becomes a pay to win slaughter ground, with slot machines where you gamble away thousands of dollars for stupid XP boosters and cosmetics, that would be a totally different story. I've played a few free to play MMOs before where the game is completely ruined by pay to win mechanics. Luckily I haven't seen any ptw mechanics in Destiny 2 when I played on Battle(.)Net.

Well I can buy Anthem for 20 euros and there's no DLC in it+ game is from 2019. While Destiny 2 is game from 2017 with dlcs that costs like brand new AAA title.

Remember when games had PS1 graphics, and cost 20x+ less to make?

Joking aside, it's entirely true. Gamers demand more and more content, better visuals, better writing, better story. That costs more to create.

Halo 1 team size was around 15 people. And it took them several years of development, as the game changed scope, and platform (remember, it was originally a MAC game).
The team size quadroupled for Halo 2, and again for Halo 3. Bungie now has over 600 employees.
Even if you gave them all pretty low salaries of $50k/yr, that's still $30million a year is JUST salary. On top of that, add the cost of medical, dental, 401k matching. Office space, PC hardware, software, dev kits, electricity, water and sewer, food, snacks, etc.

The costs of running a studio the size of Bungie is astronomical. Complaining about buying a few fairly priced items? Kind of silly.

If you want the full year 3 season pass, it will be around $80 total, for 3 years of content ($60 for shadowkeep + full year season pass, plus $25 for Forsaken).
This is content that many of us paid upwards of $200 for. So enjoy what you get for the price.
Your bad financial decisions don't make it easier to stomach.

Bad financial decisions? I don't buy something unless I can afford it, hah. My own purchases make no difference anyways. The OP is whining about paying less than half what most people did, for even more content than we got. $80 for THREE YEARS of content is absolutely, 100%, in no way arguable, a STEAL.
