Why is the install size so huge?

Almost 100 gigabytes. This game takes up almost 1/5th of my SSD just by itself.

This question has been asked so many times already. Its not that big gta is 70-80gb i think and this had 3 years of content coming with it. look at gears and other game that are even bigger.

It's 100Gb because they hesitate to let you download the full 130Gbs game. I wouldn't be surprised if there will be 30-50Gb day1 patch.

Same here, I was thinking of installing it on it, together with R6S. That would leave 75gb free. I wonder how much gb shoud I leave free on it? It's not my primary ssd.

Well. I'd like to disagree with your first point. The game IS big. Any of the new releases with that size is.

Sadly it's becoming the norm for anything even remotely open-world. Probably because 4k assets are included nowdays instead of being an additional downloadable. Alternatively companies forgot how to compress properly or don't care about it. At least one of these is why we have to deal with 100GB games.

I can confirm this is basically the main issue.

Digging through Destiny 2's script on Battlenet yielded some awful results.
