Does light level matter for PvP?

A weapon level 750 vs weapon level 950 is there difference in dmg in PvP?

In Iron banner yes, in normal pvp no.

Just look at the description where it says level advantages disabled or not.

I recommend getting a 900 power level before attempting iron banner but classic crucible is level disabled

I don't know if the difference is entirely down to there being players of lower light than me in iron banner but I find I can actually do "OK" in iron banner while in regular pvp i'm getting slaugthtered. I'm 938 now but it was true when I was 925.

If you just stand at the portal to invade ,you're worthless for your team really.

PVP is really small amount, but can have big impact in gambit. Especially regular gambit. I see a ton of people dieing to just pve in that mode because they see shiny and think 'Must obtain"..
