Report a translation problem
But I have a fairly beefy system, and I tend to NOT run any other programs in the background like Discord, streaming apps etc., and periodically at a new day I restart the game just to clear any potential issues, which is probably not needed as I have 64GB RAM, and run on M.2, for 10X the speed of a typical SSD.
But it is still EA and not fully optimized, and has some bugs.
Check you game file integrity.
It also sounds like your hard drive might be on its way out.
"My system is brand new" doesn't provide any information anyone can use for bug testing.
Bug reporting instructions are here:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1084600/discussions/0/3713810544748132640/
Include a detailed bug report:
What's the problem
What you've done to try to check for errors
What your system specifications are
Include the log files and save files
Send the result to qa@pathea.net
And of course start by removing any mods you may have installed and verifying the game files for download errors.
I understand what you're saying but, again, it is dismissive. People are indicating there is a problem and everyone just tries to say "BUT IT'S YOUUUU".
I have taken *every* step they have suggested. Nothing fixes it. The *bug* is at a developer level and I am positive they are aware. You suggesting "fill out a big report" again assumes I haven't done so and...again...is another typical dismissive response to a widespread problem. Comments like "well it must be your harddrive" or "it works for me" are unhelpful. If we're on a forum I think it's obvious we're trying to find quicker solutions and idea than waiting for a developer to reiterate the same things they've already said that don't work.
Btw.
HDD (Hard Disk Drive) is slower than a SSD (Solid-State Drive)
For me works also fine and i got:
- SSD as storage mdium
- Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060
- 32 RAM
- AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 8 Core CPU
and i play on full (not in 4K).
My system:
13th gen Intel(R) Core i9-13900K, 3000 Mhz 24 Core(s), 32 logical processor
64GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
I should not be having any kind of issue. I am attempting to delete every single file associated and do a totally fresh install but despite deleting everything and turning off cloud, downloads, etc. whenever I fresh install it still has my save files and still runs wildly slow.
Thank you! I get tired of people defending a company and assuming we're all computer morons. The suggesting above that someone's harddrive "must be failing" is pretty ridiculous.
Interestingly enough, the multiplayer loads much faster, although still not super fast. There is certainly some kind of issue with this update that needs to be resolved. I'll just have to give up for now and wait for the official release in November, I guess.
It's nothing gamebreaking or overly annoying for me though, I'm not plagued by long loading times or crashes.
Sure, people dismissing the problem is a real thing. But if you don't provide any relevant and required details, then people dismissing you isn't a problem on them, it's a problem on you. This is like you looking for a recommendation on say a new car and your criteria you've presented is "Eh, it's got to be blue."
Fine, I won't dismiss you. The solution to your problem is fix your ♥♥♥♥. Dress better, go out and get exercise, stop procrastinating, and reconnect with old friends/acquaintances. Why do I say this? Because it's impossible to address whether there may be a problem with Sandrock based on your post so we need to resort to other measures, such as psychology. If you're a happier and more satisfied person in general you'll feel like frustration on issues you can't control, thus taking the steps I mentioned above will objectively, seriously, no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, probably help you solve the problem you've identified, or at least reduce the impact you feel because of it.
Then you have a mis-configuration somewhere, or there is possibly an AMD issue, which is why I have yet to try an AMD CPU, even after 30 years.
I have about 200hrs into the game and get nowhere near the issues you are describing, NEVER had a crash in those 200 hr's. Load time is maybe a minute.(faster since the patch) Transitions through doors, a few seconds.(Maybe up to ~5 seconds if there is a quest person waiting on the other side.) Those numbers tend to increase the farther along in the game you are.
Make sure ALL your drives are SSD/NVMe. I'm not sure how many people realize the game saves to your C drive (into AppData), even if you have a secondary M.2 which has your steam games installed on, which I do. Multiple 2TB M.2's. And I play in full 4K at Ultra settings. 3840x2160.
Many people have system they built where their C drive is an older slower drive, but then add a fast SSD/M.2 and think if their games are on that drive then they are good. That's a mistake as saves still typically go to that C drive.
Running other greedy applications can seriously impact the performance I have found depending on what they are. I always recommend a clean start, and open no apps(including a browser), have no virus scanning (I have not used 3rd party virus apps for 10 years), none of those goofy process system status and monitor apps, etc. No Discord, etc.
If you are not getting the performance I am getting then you seriously need to take a closer look at how your rig is built, patched and configured.
I'm an IT professional, with 4+ decades of experience. Starting building PC's in the 80's. Worked in the game industry for over a decade as a systems engineer, so knowing how my games would perform on systems was something I dealt with and my games were played by millions and made $Billions. (I'm retired now.
So, just saying, I have found nothing to blame on the game that is performance related myself. But all rigs are not created equal.
What a weird, unhelpful, and judgmental response. If you bothered to read the rest of the thread you would see I provided the necessary information as well as submitted a big report. I am not frustrated by the lack of control but, rather, the lack of help and presumptions that it couldn't possibly be the developer.
When folks respond to a genuine concert with
"The game runs perfectly fine for me.
Check you game file integrity.
It also sounds like your hard drive might be on its way out."
Unhelpful.
A bad look to then respond with hypercritical comments about how someone should dress better or exercise and that is somehow the root of the problem. I'm a casual gamer - I don't live in a basement, I work hard all week, dress well, exercise, and when this game update came out and made the game unplayable, I sought some help. I swear, the game community has some of the most gatekeeping and unhelpful jerks out there.
This post would be well and good for some of us, except that when you had the game running fantastically, with highest settings, and have changed nothing in your setup and then a new update/patch for the game comes out and suddenly it's not working...that makes it hard to believe it is solely an equipment problem.
That's my issue I'm trying to figure out - why the performance of this update isn't working but the prior version worked great and all my specs are about as good as you could get.
Yeah, that just completely missed the mark, lmao. I don't see the relevance of any of this towards any potential Sandrock issues, either.
