What do you do with excess inventory?
I've been using the flea market port town as a sort of home base, and dump all my unused items there. So now the sector stash is overloaded with guns, tools, throwables, and other random odds and ends. And, it's messy AF.

I'm a pack rat, I hate to get rid of anything that I think I might need later. We can't sell stuff, only scrap for parts which I do with old guns I'll never use but my stash is getting out of control.

What are the rest of you doing with your extra stuff?

I salvage alot of guns mostly but keep booms and trinkets, also just salvage any non useful armor as well to spare room
Eventually I get to a town and drop some stuff on the ground. Never know when I might recruit more mercs, so I have supply caches buried everywhere. xD I have a hoarding problem.

Same, I sort of wished like JA Back in Action (that is the one I was more familiar with ja2 and other ones was before my time and I just couldn't get into (tried like ja2 a year ago?) and I don't say have the nostalgia glasses since never originally played it - granted I did like the og xcom so I thought i would?

But in JA BIA they had shops scattered across the different towns (so you can sell excess equipment and buy stuff) and even had an online shop where you could order weapons, gear and ammo etc.

Not sure if something like that could be modded in, I am not that far into the game (only like 15 hrs?) so I don't have a huge backlog of items but I did notice it doesn't take long for your mercs inv to fill up so I basically been dropping weapons, excess stuff in the different town stashes and some weapons I get that are really damaged I will scavenge for parts.

Why only the damaged ones? I've salvaged many 100% guns for parts - parts are far more valuable than a weapon you don't need right now, and you will probably find better weapons before you're in a position to come back and reclaim something you left behind.

It is much better to just scrap them. Then upgrade your weapons.

I do keep one of each in case I find more free mercs. I have two so far, they train militia, craft ammo and buy magazines.

I didn't get far into the game. Do weapons get better? Because 3 LMGs I found: minimi, RPK and MG42, are the same, which is ridiculous.
Guns are more...sidegrades than always an upgrade, barring some exceptions. The RPK at first glance seems to have the same stats as the MG42, until you take into account that it is not cumbersome (So you don't need a perk to get full free movement) and has no penalty for firing while being held, and also can be modded fully. The M16A2 looks like a better version of the FAMAS, but no full auto. It can have a grenade launcher though. You keep progressing and eventually you get something like the FAL which just seems better than other ARs, etc.

I scrap em. Scrapping guns yields not only parts but also can give you barrels, lenses and chips.

Yea, I got lots of FALs early thanks to RNGeezus.

Does the perk which gives you half of free movement works on weapons too, not only armor? And does it combine with a perk which doubles your free movement?
