Help
As far as I know, i have to get to the area with forteen enemies with manyshotguns, that defend the market at H9 to get a trader. But the area is so extreme hard. I have 6 Mercs, but no chance at all they are just overrunning you after round 3 minimum one merc is grounded. How? No way without good weapons and ammo. The game in this state unplayable. I play on easy and forgiving mode. And its too brutal when you can not get any weapons or ammo.

So far my experience. Any tips, anything I don't know, what I have overseen? I am stuck you can say.

I'm struggling with this area aswell. The thing that bothers me most is that almost all enemies seem to have ALOT more AP's then me. They can run long distances AND attack several times.

Yep, have the same feeling.

It's the shotgunners/enforcers/melee dudes. They kinda break all immersion.

PLaying on normal and that was last of the hard maps, after that i got everyone decent weps and armor . I had an AK and a rare wep Confidante which one shots ppl, barry to lob grenades whenever 2 ppl are bunched up, and blood to sweep it all up with throwing knives. At first they just kept coming, but after i killed a bunch, they actually started retreating, which made it lot easier. But certainly hardest one yet

i just did that map on the middle difficulty (veteran or so). i set up halfway to the spot wher eit said "flanking spot" on the intel behind some cover. i put a silencer on my kar, and had hitman snipe 2 or 3 guys before the fight. i had an rpk on my imp guy and a heavy machine gun on grizzly, i use that to mow people down who bum rush me. i found dozens of nades and i basically have barry only throwing nades. i use kalyna to pick ppl off with her kar as well. oh and i have MD doing nothing but bandaging people and staying in the back.

Only got the weapons from the island underground region, but they are enough for this task as long as I can run Blood.

First thing I did after helping a guy at the church, found tons of molotov cocktails.

And I got Barry with his explosives.

running only 6 mercs.

what helped me was to flank single stray enemies with blood

rest of my guys stays hidden as long as possible, oneshots bestcase and if he/she fails and gets spotted I just get prone and hide again.

fox even crits for 120 damage against the torso, while hidden, maybe because of a silver stealth perk i took

PS: playing only on normal difficulty

PPS: grouped my guys at the little park near the gate, used the low walls as cover

I too found many frustrations with the game as is...even gave it a thumbs down. But since then I've added some useful mods; Evermine (mines never run out), Merc inventory size, Show chance to hit, and More loot drops. Now I have an overabundance of both cash and ammo and equipment. And even if it feels like cheating, there is still the challenge of taking on 15 or more enemies in a sector. (Did they really have to add the zombies?) But my biggest frustration with the game is in never feeling like I'm ever getting anywhere with the goal of finding the President, to the point where I no longer care about trying to save Biff...and so many sectors are eventually overrun by hordes of Legion soldiers while my squads are too far away to bolster the militia, forcing one to retake over and over again the same sector. After a while I just don't care and the game for me just seems like endless combat...which tends to wear after awhile. I played both JA 1 and 2 and never felt that in those games which allowed a somewhat natural progression to the final goal.

Playing on basic difficulty, Fleatown is potentially tough, but far more manageable if you climb to the roof of the biggest building in the SE corner, and then just pick them off with rifles as they come at you a few at a time. Grenades help of course.
Any who do make it up the ladder can easily be disposed of.
Do not fight in the market area.

Try to take out some isolated enemies with stealth first before you "open the fight".

This is something I suspect a lot of people who are struggling are not doing, because it may require a bit of patience.

If you can't get up high in real-time phase, get as close as possible and be willing to spend a couple of turn-based turns getting everyone up the ladder/stairs/climbing.

Being in an elevated position with a waist-high wall all around is insta-win.

Pop up, take a shot or two, go prone. Rinse and repeat until all enemies are deaded.

This goes for every fight, not just the Fleatown market. Take a minute to look around for an elevated position instead of just blasting away from the middle of a cornfield.

yes, position 2 sniper on roof top, 2 rifles on balcony, 1 MG overwatch the back staircase. Then, take out the 3 guards at the main gates first.

I'm actually trying for ironman achievement even though I said i never would doesn't seem to bad, but imo you need to use as many single shots as possible to begin with to conserve ammo but then you start finding quite a bit of gunpowder and gathering ammo literally everywhere now mid-late game.
