Paradox LOVES 1000s of DLCs.
+1
PAradox is DLC fest with buggy core games. They don't make good games anymore. just look at lastest Cities 2: Skylines
FOr example EU4 is one of the best Grand Strategy Games of all time.......... but it had like 50 dlcs and cost like 500$ to own.... if you bought them all on release.
Not until a decade later, when Eu5 was being teased, did I finally buy the game and all it's DLC for like 40$
I have thousands of hours in that game......... but you wouldn't know according to steam.
It's a shame because back in the day when they were putting out hearts of iron 3... and doing proper expansions to games... instead of dlcs (it had 3) they were my favorite INDIE company.
Now they are just another Major dev that everyone hates.
On the bright side, JA 4 will have the funding it needs, on the bad side.... you can expect JA 4 to have many more micro transactions and DLC's when it does get released.
I hope for more games like JA3 than Tropico
Personally, I wish the Haemimont team the best. They made an awesome game that is JA3, and put a lot of effort into it. May their next project under Paradox be a hit.
In regards to Jagged Alliance IP, it belongs to THQ Nordic, seriously. Haemimont was hired to make the game, they don't own the IP. So it isn't going anywhere.
So, let's leave it at that. Okay? Thank you
In a year, they will announce Jagged Alliance 4, as a very promising game. After two years of silence and three release delays, the game will be canceled, and Paradox will announce that it prefers to focus on "what it knows best." Europa Universalis 5 will still not be on the market at that time, and the creators of Cities Skylines 2 will still promise that patches will be released soon.
THQ Nordic owns the Jagged Alliance intellectual property, including JA3. The Embracer Group's Coffee Stain & Friends will own THQ Nordic. Coffee Stain & Friends will be listed on the stock exchange some time in 2025. After the listing, the price will tank, then buy up heaps of shares in the company, when you have bought enough to be the majority shareholder (51%), you can get Coffee Stain & Friends to make JA4 however you want it to be, just the way you like to play it.
Meanwhile JA3 was developed by Haemimont Games, using the Haemimont game engine. Since they own the game engine, only Paradox will be able to make the JA3 DLC.
Coffee Stain & Friends can publish the Paradox JA3 DLC; but they could also use a different game developer and game engine to make JA4.
TLDR: If you want JA3 DLC or JA4, you first have to wait for Coffee Stains & Friends to list on the stock exchange (Sweden). Then wait some more for Paradox and Coffee Stains & Friends to come up with a project.
