Haemimont just got bought
Thought that might be (sort of) interesting to JA3 players:

"Moreover, they have a strong creative streak, technology developed for their niche, a new IP in development and a strong culture that fits Paradox’s way of working."

Personally, I wish the Haemimont team the best. They made an awesome game that is JA3, and put a lot of effort into it. May their next project under Paradox be a hit.

In regards to Jagged Alliance IP, it belongs to THQ Nordic, seriously. Haemimont was hired to make the game, they don't own the IP. So it isn't going anywhere.

So, let's leave it at that. Okay? Thank you

Could be good, could be bad.
Paradox LOVES 1000s of DLCs.
Terrible news. I remember how the Complete Edition of Surviving Mars suddenly did not receive new DLC, and the description of the edition was retroactively corrected. That's the whole point of the Paradox: cut, cut, and cut again.

Get ready for a dozen $100 dollar DLCs. I hate Paradox. :steamsad:

+1
this is bad news :(

PAradox is DLC fest with buggy core games. They don't make good games anymore. just look at lastest Cities 2: Skylines
Paradox is one of the most greedy companies out there. I mean they don't reach wargaming levels of greed (that company needs to be audited) but they do the whole lets make a base game, them mod our own game, call it dlc and milk people for it.

FOr example EU4 is one of the best Grand Strategy Games of all time.......... but it had like 50 dlcs and cost like 500$ to own.... if you bought them all on release.

Not until a decade later, when Eu5 was being teased, did I finally buy the game and all it's DLC for like 40$

I have thousands of hours in that game......... but you wouldn't know according to steam.

It's a shame because back in the day when they were putting out hearts of iron 3... and doing proper expansions to games... instead of dlcs (it had 3) they were my favorite INDIE company.

Now they are just another Major dev that everyone hates.

On the bright side, JA 4 will have the funding it needs, on the bad side.... you can expect JA 4 to have many more micro transactions and DLC's when it does get released.

Paradox did NOT buy jagged alliance IP, as it isn't owned by Haemimont, it's owned by THQ Nordic.
I'm glad to see the tradition of every installment in the JA main line being developed by a different studio will live on. (At least in case there'll ever be a JA4)

Congratulations, i am looking forward to new projects.

I hope for more games like JA3 than Tropico
Damn no JA4 from Haemimont, that's bad.
We will probably get 200 new mercs in 250 DLC. And new maps. One DLC per tile.

What's next for the series? The plan seems to be extremely trivial.

In a year, they will announce Jagged Alliance 4, as a very promising game. After two years of silence and three release delays, the game will be canceled, and Paradox will announce that it prefers to focus on "what it knows best." Europa Universalis 5 will still not be on the market at that time, and the creators of Cities Skylines 2 will still promise that patches will be released soon.
Yeah Nah, ...it's complicated.

THQ Nordic owns the Jagged Alliance intellectual property, including JA3. The Embracer Group's Coffee Stain & Friends will own THQ Nordic. Coffee Stain & Friends will be listed on the stock exchange some time in 2025. After the listing, the price will tank, then buy up heaps of shares in the company, when you have bought enough to be the majority shareholder (51%), you can get Coffee Stain & Friends to make JA4 however you want it to be, just the way you like to play it.

Meanwhile JA3 was developed by Haemimont Games, using the Haemimont game engine. Since they own the game engine, only Paradox will be able to make the JA3 DLC.

Coffee Stain & Friends can publish the Paradox JA3 DLC; but they could also use a different game developer and game engine to make JA4.

TLDR: If you want JA3 DLC or JA4, you first have to wait for Coffee Stains & Friends to list on the stock exchange (Sweden). Then wait some more for Paradox and Coffee Stains & Friends to come up with a project.
