Biff (spoilers)

I'm finally making my way north, to take some of the settlements there, when I got a message about Biff being in danger. There's a Legion team travelling across the map to get to him, and I'm wondering whether to intercept or head straight to Biff. If I do go straight to him, will he stay there, forcing me to wait to help him with the Legion team?

I thought Biff would hand over the diamond when we were finished the siege. When he mentioned his "tactical genius" after the battle I made sure to take the diamond. No regrets.

only communists regard biff as competent.

if you take out the legion assault squad heading towards biff, you can delay the biff sector as long as you want (at least if you dont start the military event).

you probably want to take fixed up larry with you to get the diamond... or just shoot biff.

you also want to have control over the commie-mine (via reputation 100), else more commies show up and you will have to shoot them, which sounds like a good thing in general but could hurt you financially in the long run. using useful idiots for labor the way to go.

also you dont want to enter biffs sector if you aren´t willing to commit to that decision, because you will be locked in there will the event is over. a full squad (obviously with sniperrifles) is recommended.

not sure if a skillcheck is required besides having larry, but i assume probably a leadership one.

What if I DO intercept them, then go meet with Biff?

the assault crew on the map will kill biff it it reaches him (afaik), thus you have to intercept it.

or do the biff encounter before it reaches him, which basically gives you the timelimit of the assault crew reaching him. no idea if the assault crew despawns if the biff sector is completed first, but it seems like an extremly bad idea to test it.

as soon as the assault crew is dealt with, there´s no timer on the biff event (except if you trigger the military event, which is easy to avoid).

killing the assault crew and then (sometime later) go to biff is the smart way to do it.

also the assault crew has nothing to do with the 5-6 waves which will spawn when you talk to biff (aka biff event). those 5-6 waves will spawn no matter what.
you enter the biff sector, you get locked into the sector till the event is over, you loot the sector, you talk to biff, a 60s timer starts before wave 1 spawns in. hop on the highground billboard, delete legion with 7.62.

also there´s a communist spawn if you aren´t in charge of them, however i haven´t experienced that, but getting 100% with chimichanga is easy enough and worth it (mine-wise)

hello. i didn't have time to intercept assault team so biff was killed. i reached the sector too late, killed the legion troops. but i can't leave the sector as it shows as if i am still in battle.
time is frozen, nothing is happening and i'm stuck. how to solve this?

No need spoil but to mention, you stopped the first significant timer, but second follows with many major consequences, but again, the game is cool with the player and let him delay the most major consequence as much he wants. Past it I don't know, it seems it's the two big timers of the game. A third is related to some disease but I have doubts it can have major consequences. Other consequences are linked to your actions/choices or order you did stuff.
