Is it possible to attack a sector simultaneously with two squads?
I don't know how to do this or whether it's possible - can you bring > 6 mercs into a single attack? I understand it's possible with defense but unsure with attack, thx.

Yes, you can attack from the same sector or pincer movement from different sectors. Just tell one to move (quickly pause) and tell the other to move.

I try to start with the squad with the worst Leadership stat since they move slower.

When the combat begins in the sector, don't hit fight, back out of the popup and wait for the second squad to arrive.

In my experience as long as a squad is across the sector border it will include them in the fight - you don't have to wait for them to "officially" arrive.

Doesn't all movement stop when combat starts in one place? I don't do this so I honestly have no clue. I thought it was a matter of simply timing it so all your attack groups are on the same tile at the same time. They don't have to be in the exact centre but so long as they are in the tile they will take part. Genuinely going to have to check this out some time because I just never use two squads.

people keep saying this but when you back out, anytime you try to restart the game clock, the popup pops right back up and pauses time...this loop repeats to you cannot then coordinate squad movements

I was hoping this would happen when I had two squads very near the combat sector, but as soon as the first squad arrives and initiates combat, the second squad doesn't arrive, even if it's less than 2 hrs travel time away.

This is what I thought happened and why I thought being in the same sector was enough. I have never used two squads at once so it's a new one on me.
Maybe the way I am talking about only works if there is an event involving enemies on the map but not an actual enemy squad icon on the tile itself. I am not sure.

actually some fight are scripted to be 1 squad only example : The refugee camp end game

It almost never works for me, not scripted just any combat,, coordinating two or more squads to arrive for combat is a confusing random and usually unsuccessful process...maybe it's bugged?

move 1 squad to the sector when asked to fight click close and unpause wait squad 2 arrive then proceed to fight

That doesn't work for me. I have tried that over and over.
The problem is as soon as I close that Combat pop up and unpause, the combat pop up then reappears, this happens over and over again

First thing to do is turn on every auto pause option so the game doesn't automatically progress time after you begin something. Then select each squad and order them to move. They'll set out at the same time when you manually unpause, but keep in mind that terrain (and I think Leadership trait) affects travel speed and thus arrival time.

I've been using two squads (5 mercs and 3 mercs, then later a 6 merc and 1 merc) for most of my current campaign, but we usually come from the same sector so arrival times are synced for the most part.

Attacking from different sectors is doable and satisfying, but it can be confusing if you don't know how the terrain and Leadership stats will affect your squads travel speed.

Yeah but you are not going to time it so that both squads hit the dead centre and start combat the same instant. Nobody is that good so it goes back to what I thought that they only need to be in the same sector when one starts the fight?
Remarkably confusing for something so simple. I really gotta test it for myself one day.
