I too hope they make a sequel, but I also want game developers to have more creative freedom to make the kinds of games they wanted to make instead of just making sequels to popular or well received games, which is why I'm glad they're working on new projects.

That said, if we were to get a sequel, hopefully it's one that they put just as much, if not more love and passion into it as they did with this, and that it doesn't feel like they're doing it out of obligation to do so like so many franchises are these days. :butterfly:

I don't even play turn based RPGs as a general preference, including the Paper Mario ones this was obviously modelled after. I was mostly sold on the insect / micro society theme which I'm always fond of, and ended up connecting with the whole 40 odd hours it took me to get through. Appreciated the cosy vibe of three dysfunctional mates going out on ventures together to explore outward places just because they feel like it. Made me remember how little of that I've had in my own life and so badly desire it at times. That kind of thing tends to stick with you.

Also some parts really reminded me of Klonoa for some reason. I think mainly the music.

totally agree and hear you out 100%
honestly if they felt forced to pump out another sequel- especially in a short timeframe, then it would likely not turn out well. LOOKING AT YOU ACTIVISION AND BLIZZARD
i am so excited for hollow knight still and dont care thats its another year without notice at the same time!

its funny it almost has a nostalgic feel to it even though i didnt play it as a child! what a unique vibe, and i think youre on point the music played a huge role. but also the interaction between our three lovable heroes. even doing a replay, and say using the bug ranger plushie for additional text was such a great addition !
