Where is the no blink mode? A cam is absolutely required? Popular streamer Lirik tried to play this game...
A popular Twitch streamer (20,994 avg concurrent viewers as of 4/14/2021) Lirik tried to play this game recently but he couldn't find the no blink mode. His entire brand is not using a camera. It feels like a big missed opportunity since this game would have gotten immense exposure from Lirik. I think Lirik would have done a full playthrough of this game if the game worked for him. Lirik's personality fits well with this game's story imo.

You have to use a camera first to calibrate and then right before you save the data, its asks if you want to enter the no camera mode.

Yep, Lirik could hide the screen during the initial calibration (and any other in game calibrations if necessary) and play with blinks that way. Additionally, Lirik could navigate to the in game pause menu > settings > uncheck use blinks. That'll make clicks the interaction method instead. Another work around: Lirik could unplug their camera before playing. If no camera is detected during the initial calibration, the game will automatically ask you if you want to play with clicks.

I'm curious why this wasn't an option in the main settings menu, offered before or during calibration? Also the game detected his OBS or something? His VOD here at 5:40:16 shows his attempts to get the game working:

Unfortunately, it is unlikely he will revisit the game at this point.

We overlooked that for sure, and after seeing so many Streams now, it makes total sense. It's a strange thing to make a game that has to show you your own face and we didn't consider all of the ways that could play out (we didn't anticipate people not wanting to show their face, which now makes total sense in retrospect). I'm not totally sure what was going on with that OBS thing though. It seems like he had some built in feature to hide his face. Normally, if it doesn't detect a camera it'll just default to clicks, but in this case, it did detect a camera and he was unable to complete the calibration because of that "no signal" multi colored bar screen, which I don't recognize. The screen would be white if the camera wasn't working properly. So yeah this was a strange situation. Thanks for sharing the video, it definitely shed some light on this part of the game.

I wanted to stream it as well but as the other person said; the game didn't detect my cam and there was no option to disable the blink mode so I couldn't play it either.

No blink mode is available in the settings menu via pause. Just uncheck "use blink detection" and you are good to go. Also, when starting the calibration after a new game is selected, you can choose to play without blink detection if the game can't find a camera. Because of the valid issues brought up in this discussion thread we'll be adding that option to the main menu as well for the next patch, but hopefully the options I just listed will help you out in the meantime.

Any ETA on when the patch is coming? I would really love to play this game, but I don't have a webcam, thank you.

You can! Got to pause menu > settings > uncheck "use blink detection". Note that this option is only available after you start a game. We'll be including it in the main menu for the next patch.

You can play with your smart phone's camera. If you decide to play with no camera, the game will detect that and ask if you want to play without eye detection. From there you'll be able to play with clicks.

No problem, I hope all these bugs I'm reading about on the discussion pages eventually get ironed out. I still really wish Lirik played this game since I think he would have greatly enjoyed this game while giving this game incredible exposure. Eventually, Sodapoppin will likely play this game on one of his variety stream days. He will give this game immense exposure when he does play it. I want to see this game get much more exposure since this masterpiece of a game deserves it.

Thanks! With our latest patch, we added "show webcam feed" to the main menu, partly due to this thread.
