Cannot get box to green.

Hi,

When starting a new game, the box won't turn green. First I tried the internal webcam of my laptop. I also tried using my smartphone as a webcam by using a app called "DroidCam". Both result in a red box which won't turn green.

The game is present in the list of allowed apps in Windows Defender Firewall.

I also tried starting the game by turning the firewall off completely. Still the box won't turn green.

I also reinstalled the game a few times and delete the webcamInfo json file in the appdata.

The file 'keydebug.txt' contains the following error: "curl error code: 52".

Does someone know how to fix this? I really want to play the game with a webcam.

here are some options:
-Check windows camera privacy settings - make sure Before Your Eyes has access
-When in the camera-select menu (comes up after clicking “new game”), check that the correct webcam is selected in the dropdown list. If your camera has a light, it should turn on when selected.
-When in camera-select menu (comes up after clicking “new game”), unplug camera, wait 5 seconds, then plug back in. Then select it in the drop-down menu (if it isn't already).
Make sure the camera is not being used or getting hijacked by another program.
-If nothing works, send us a logfile. The log file is located at C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Goodbye World\Before Your Eyes\output_log.txt, where username is your Windows user name. This can help us to figure out the root cause so we can better address the issue.
-Delete C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Goodbye World\Before Your Eyes\webcamInfo.json

I'm having a problem with my camera calibration. Everytime I start a new game, the box won't turn green, and the circle won't fill. I've checked windows privacy settings and it seems my BYE is allowed to access the camera just fine. I am using my laptop's built-in webcam.

Hey there, apologies for the wait, I went to sleep early last night. Did you try all of the options I listed earlier in this thread? It could be that your camera is being used by another program. What cameras do you see in the dropdown and which one are you using for the calibration?
