Online multiplayer - How does it work?
Do each of us have to purchase the same game to play from different locations? Or does one person act as a host?

^ Also interesting in this. And does LAN require everyone to have purchased it on their computer?

Hello Max. I have a bit more information about this, provided by a friend who moved overseas and who suggested using board games available in Steam. The answer to my question was 'yes'. Each player has to own their own copy of the game. Fortunately, the online privilege costs considerably less than the manufactured board game. There are also considerations to bear in mind. Make sure the game is an online multiplayer version, and, if needed, check whether it is a cross platform game. This is still all theory to me, and my overseas friend has some of the games but hasn't played them with anyone yet. So, intelligence from someone more knowledgeable than me would be welcome.

That's correct every player needs to own the base game but if you want to play any of the DLC maps/versions, only one player needs to play the DLC.
