If reinstalling/verifying isn't working, you may need to clear your registry. Search "regedit" in windows and then navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cloudhead Games, Ltd.\Pistol Whip and delete the "Pistol Whip" folder.
This will reset your settings and local leaderboards, but may help resolve any corruption preventing the game from loading.
If that doesn't work, please send us a report using this form: https://zfrmz.com/Pe2x6NMd525EaTEIM7zE
Let me know if the above works!
Failed to load player settings among other things. I'll create a report.
Can you start by verifying your game files again, just in case.
If that doesn't work, right click the game in Steam, go Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files. Go into the "Pistol Whip_Data" folder and delete the files called "globalgamemanagers". Then verify your game files again.
if THAT doesn't work, let me know and I'll email you a stable package to try and replace the corrupted files. Sorry again that this has happened!
Hey there, thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear you've encountered this issue. Am I able to gather some information about the problem to hopefully help you find a solution, starting with which HMD (headset) you're attempting to play Pistol Whip on.
Thing is though I tried installing in 2 different drives and deleting the registry entries mentioned above and nothing worked, today I tried firing it up on a whim and... it works. Had a chance to try 2 levels of the 2089 campaign which is fantastic as expected.
Gonna have to assume it was SteamVR or Oculus acting up the day I posted this (even though other games did work, go figure). Will update this post in case the game refuses to load again, but I doubt it will.
