make song modding easier

hey devs, my feature request is that you make the song names and folders more amenable to modding. i had modded pw to have custom songs but when pw updated, all my customized songs got wiped out and i'm kind of disheartened at the thought of going in and replacing everything by hand as it is.

i would be cool to be able to choose levels and then navigate to custom songs for the level as an option.

and you're not providing the songs so it shouldn't be an issue of copyright peril.

oh and also, would like an option to reduce and/or eliminate bullet trails. trying to get really good at dead-eye and the bullet trails are too much of an assist.

That reply seems to be a copy paste from the devs but just adjusts the name of the person asking. I'm sure it's a thing they've considered and know it would be popular but for some reason they haven't done it or really worked on it (That we know). They've stated the same thing over a year ago and nothing has been done of it.

With so little information and repeated replies it's easy to lose faith in what they are saying. An example; "with that being said we have shared your feedback with our dev team", it's so hard to believe they are, since it's the same question and answer over and over again. We might not see modding or custom songs for a very long time if at all from the devs (and trust me I want to eat those words), unless someone else makes an API, asset bundle, framework and other modding tools (which is a lot of work for someone that doesn't already have access to such tools like the devs).

Still, a great game as is and would be made better with mods. They would definitely get more popularity and recognition once these tools are out, more so if they are easy to use.

this'll be goofy but i've always enjoyed the thought of pistol whipping to a song like this along with many others.

wow, that's waaaaaaaay more than i was asking for but it looks great. thank you! two questions:

1. to be clear, this means we can use our own songs right? like i can use my mp3s or whatever? and it's not just using the songs included in pistol whip?

2. how do we get to the beta? right now there's a lock symbol on the discord thread and it says "no access".

You can take whatever song you want. It just needs to be converted to .ogg format.

But don't publish anything with songs of other Artists if you wanna be sure, not to violate any copyright stuff.
