Modifier to reduce obstacles
Hi,

great game and I bet all levels on hard so far but one where I just can not handle the obstacles because it's to much and I don't dare to jump so extreme with my Rift with cables and a fairly small playspace. However, on normal it's just to boring. So a modifier would be great.

Thanks for considering this!

Regards

Hey Felix, this is definitely something we've considered as an accessibility option. It would be as you described, a modifier to disable obstacles for a point reduction.

little tip : look left in lobby, shoot 'modifiers', shoot 'dead eye' and try again.
Normal mode won't be so easy anymore. And hard, well... good luck.

But like i said, this game should have 5 difficulties instead of 3. so it scales better to all players.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I would totally agree on this one. I find the obstacles are a bit ridiculous at times. The spacing between them feels far too tight to me. There are several levels that use them well but when you've got the super quick back and fourth it's pretty brutal.

I'd be curious if metrics are being gathered on which levels are most played and where most failures occur. Not sure how my play space compares to most but I'd imagine it's probably a bit smaller than average which exacerbates the issue.

I played yesterday for around two hours and finished all levels on hard two times, but the one where you need to really dash quick left, right, left, right... So I still think the obstacles are a bit rough.

And I did not so bad because I ended up rank 15 and 16 on two songs and between 30-50 on the others.
I focused on the shoot with the music aspect and that gives you lots of points.

So I think I will master the remaining level one day because I am stubborn, haha.

However, I would be more happy to make the jumping part a bit less important to fully enjoy the song, even if I sacrifice some points.

Yeah, there's one level like that, on hard, and your timings need to be on point.
I actually liked this bit once I got it down.

OMG SO THIS.. Being disabled and in a wheelchair, although i can still dodge the bulk of obsticles there are some that seem to be twice as far than others in one direction or the other making those impossible for me to dodge without leaning so far outa my wheelchair i get real nervous... Please devs consider this as an option i know theres actually a decent sized chunk of the VR community thats disabled one of those reasons is VR allows us to do things we normally could not and experience life in what for us is very new ways..

Thanks,
Slandaro

Wth are you talking about in regards to jumping? There's plenty of quick back and forth and squats, but I've never had to jump in this game.

yea, I meant very quick "dashing" left - right - left - ... sometimes a small "jump" when you are late. just some more space and it would be alright.

you only need to move your head out of the way of obstacles, so dashing, jumping, or squatting is unnecessary, just lean left and right

i have my bed behind me when i play, sometimes i dodge, i just put my back on the bed, split legs up and shoot between them, it work very well :D

That feels like cheating :-P

But it's the same with the bullets.... We need full body sensoric....

There's that section in I forgot what level, in hard, where you have to lean left/right/left/right super quickly. That section just doesn't work I find. The visuals and music don't exactly match. I've tried leaning on the beat, or doding the walls visually - it really feels random. Sometimes I would crash into a wall and not understand why. Heck, I don't even understand if I crash into the wall before me (too late?) or behind me (too soon?).

Other than this one specific section that I think is badly designed I have no problem with the obstacles, I think they're good. Of course more accessibility options is always a good thing.

Obstacles - Please Fix
They desperately need to be spaced out more or there needs to be a modifier that reduces the amount per map because some of them are simply too close together. Either decrease the number or increase spacing because it's quite ridiculous on some of the maps.
