This. I can understand why they can't update the engine to support multi-core, but there's no excuse for tweaking AI even more as the modders have shown time and time again it's possible to do it.
Some terrible flaws still not taken care of such as lack of basic stealth/ambush mechanics, extreme AI accuracy when player is in a vehicle or AI is manning MGs and cannons, no dynamic camouflage system outside of mods, very poor rearming logic for both infantry and vehicles that still requires unnecessary babysitting etc.
People who say game is dead have never been part of organized Arma 3 group. Clans play custom mission usually made by themselves once or twice a week with overall length 2-3 hours and its amazing experience. The rest of the time their server is down or just do testing.
