Escape From Tanoa Mission - Tips for Starting Out
I love the multiplayer Escape from Tanoa mission, I've been playing it exclusively for weeks now. The mission start is really tough, here's some tips and strategies I've learned that I hope will help you.

=== START ===
The beginning, where you escape the improvised jail, is one of the most difficult parts of this mission. You might very well fail more times than you succeed. This challenge is part of why the mission is so fun :)

The guards only become hostile once a player has a weapon, so do NOT pick up the weapons pack until all the players have spawned and are moving! While waiting for the players to spawn, do some recon by looking out the door, on hills etc. for guards. Also note any gaps in the walls the guards might shoot through.

As players spawn into the jail, have them go into the corner on the other end of the wall with the doors. This prevents guards from shooting you through the door. Once everyone is safe in the corner, pick up the weapons backpack. This makes the guards hostile and officially starts the mission.

Whoever picked up the pack should empty all the contents onto the ground so everyone can grab a weapon with ammo. Do NOT grab weapons directly from the pack, it can glitch and lock everyone out.


=== ESCAPING THE JAIL ===
Once everyone has weapons, it's time to break out of jail. Kill any guards you see through the doors and on nearby hills. Now open BOTH doors, so you can pop out for a look and pop back in without getting stuck. If a guard has you pinned behind a wall, use the "lean sideways" to peek out and shoot back.

Go around all four outside walls and kill all the guards. Some guards may be hiding and not immediately visibile, watch for them as you loot the corpses. Consider keeping your starting weapon until all enemies are dead - surviving guards will often kill you while you're looting.

If someone dies and they're not too exposed, drag them inside the jail if possible, and revive. If it's too dangerous, leave them and have them respawn.

Take a knee or go prone while you loot, so you're harder to hit if a hidden guard appears. Don't forget to loot First Aid Kits too. Manually check for clips, take ones that are more then half-full. For weapons with large clips like the Lim-85, if you find a second guard with the same ammo, loot the clip on the gun as well.

There is also the official (and further maintained) version. It just had a patch and first Apex release in the workshop:

I have played in Flav's Escape server and the AI are too easy for me, you do make valid points and ones I use to escape too, I as team leader always take the pack and others search it while up against the walls out of line of sight and watching murder holes, when playing as a team and we attempt to break out, T/L designates going left or right and other squad members will go the opposite direction and take out remaining enemies.My unit plays this exclusively on a daily/weekly basis and we do pretty well though we have only escaped once since v1.9 in 194 attempts and I was not recording it (hahah) :duranceright: :r3skull:

Difficulty: I have my AI turned up to make them more reactive to our decisions and game play (I also have the params set to extreme) and as of v1.9 of CO10 Escape the AI are a little more aggressive I've noticed, check out my youtube channel for streams of my "attempts" to escape:

I have AI difficulty at 0.15 it seems to be the sweet spot. I've created a new value in the params file called "Cadet-Easy" and assigned it this value, and made it the mission default. All 3 missions I've converted have this now.

That newer version even on easy difficulty the chopper and APC role up on you WAAAY too quickly.
I went back to the original.
But, am looking forward to checking out Sir Flav Alots version.
