How do I play Coop with a friend

I tried to host a server and when my friends try to join they can't. It says '' Server Not Responding ''. I don't know If there Is even a way to host. Help anyone ?

You need to port forward the port you are using. Search Google for "How to port forward (router name)" Hope this helps.

You have to open Ports 2302 (If i remember correctly) for ARMA, you also need to open the ports for STEAM. I can't remember the port number for steam but a simple google search will find it for ya

Port forward 2302 and 2303

2302-2303 required for Arma 3
8766, defines port for communication with STEAM services
27016, defines port for server's STEAM query

also give your self a static IP if you dont already have one.

I opened both port, 2 for Steam and 2 for Arma 3. Now how do I know If I got It to work ?

1. open up arma
2. go to multiplayer
3. click New, in the bottom corner
4. name your server, set a password
5. select a mission
6. play it
7. get friends to join

edit: you may also have to allow the same ports through your firewall

Get in a server and have him right click on your name in steam and click join game.

This makes me lose the will to live. Why should we have to be so technical just to play a game. It's like having to know how to fix an engine in order to drive a car. I just want the game to work in multiplayer!

Im having this issue now, even with ports frowarded, its driving me nutz. Me and my buddy have resorted to tungle. Did the port forwarding fix for you or was there any other steps?

If you want to play with friends just join empty servers but there Is a port forwarding way
