Arma 3
Helicopter aim where you look
I think that the adition of a hellicopter that would aim where you looked like an Apache would be great, it would be even beter if it had TrackIR support. :P

PS: If anyone knows of a mod that has this plz let me know.

You mean like how the Blackfoot acts when it has a gunner in its gunner seat? :p
The gun does not move where u look like that, im talking where ur looking not zoomed in, where your helmet is pointing.
The gun does move with your mouse while in the gunner seat - and not zoomed in, you (as the gunner) just can't see it from your perspective.

Ask someone to stand outside the Blackfoot while you're in the gunner, and move your mouse around. This can also be shown using the Hellcat, since it has a camera mounted on the nose. It's also noticable when you move your mouse, then use freelook. While using the gun/camera, your mouse movements should be slower, more sluggish. Freelook allows for faster mouse movement, and you should see the difference fairly quickly.
Whaaaaaaaat?! when im gunning and i look to shoot, it shoots forwards.

Tell ya what, I'll test it for myself, just to make double sure. If I'm wrong, I'll take the hit, lol.

EDIT: Yep, just tested it in Virtual Arsenal. Gun follows where you look. I can provide a video if need be. Are you sure that you don't have Vehicle Freelook enabled in your controls?

Idk, i need to reinstall arma tbh, all ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up
Alright man, glad I could help in either case :3
I think it was verified that we were talking about the gunner's seat, not the pilot's seat, lol.

But as for controlling the direction of the gun while in the pilot's seat, you can't. For the Blackfoot, you can pre-adjust the angle of the gun so that it's pointing more downwards than upwards, before hopping into the pilot's seat. Alternatively, you can take control of the Blackfoot from the gunner's seat, but you will NOT be able to use flares in the event of a missile lock. And you can't release controls (even with Auto-Hover on) to turn the turret to shoot around.

Essentially, you can't one-man crew an attack helicopter, unless the gun/missile pods can only be used in one direction, like the armed versions of the MH-9, Hellcat, Orca, etc.
You can control the gun from the gunner position, even when not "aiming" through the digital screen, but the turret is controlled by mouse movement, not by the head movement. So actually looking around with Alt key or with TrackIR does not move the gun, you still need to use mouse. It would be indeed nice to aim with your head movement.
