DayZ, Wasteland and Life (roleplaying) mods brought a lot of.. uhhm.. casual players... with it. 90% (not actual number) of all servers are now these, in my opinion, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gamemodes, which doesn't have much to do with Armas original feeling. For proper milsim gamplay I recommend joining a clan. For PVP I recommend trying out Tactical Battlefield mod.
Yes, very much. Check the workshop.
In Arma 3, body armor is now actually affective, and not just visual. And since pretty much all enemies you'll be fighting are convential forces with body armor, it can sometimes get frustrating to kill. If you don't have body armor on, then 1 shot kill is likely the case.
If fly alot choppers might be worth it, I like the guns and BI so got marksman, if playing lots of vanilla def get marksman however if keen on lots of mods might not use that much but really nice guns.
Also forgot to mention if you know opflash editor its exactly the same just with more options with script lines etc and great modules that help greatly.
