Reforger is a paid Alpha/Beta/Test Version. Wait for Arma 4.

I have been playing Arma 3 for the last 7 years or so and have played 20-30 hours on Reforger.

The game is going to innovate the franchise, there is no doubt about it. It brings a new, more optimized graphics engine than the one we currently know from Arma 3 and other mechanics for both the ingame and the modder.

BUT it still has a long way to go to be on par with Arma 3. Obviously a 13-year-old game has many things for its age, but it can still offer several hours of gameplay.

Arma 4 or Reforger, whichever you prefer, will have to put in a lot of effort to overcome the previous work.

I look forward to seeing the Arma evolve to a new concept at the level of rendering, graphics, mods, gameplay and community. It is something that has been expected for several years.

Let's hope everything goes well.

Yes totally. You have to build a squad of friends to enjoy it better. It also has a single-player "campaign" that I haven't tried but my teammates have told me it's good.

You have to know that it is completely PvP oriented. The PvE to my taste is still half green.

For me, it was never about the graphics or how good the game looked. I do have an issue with Arma III only using a maximum of fours cores on any given CPU, but it was developed in 2013 when four cores were the maximum. Things have obviously improved since then.

Arma III is also a memory hog with piss-poor memory management. However, this can be compensated for by throwing lots of RAM at the game. The more the better.

The primary reason why I bought, and have put more than 5,000 hours into, Arma III is because of its Eden Editor. I spend 75% of that 5,000+ hours on Arma III building and playing new missions.

So it is all about content and functionality for me, not how pretty it looks. There are lots of FPS games that are much nicer looking than Arma III: Call of Duty, Squad, Battlegrounds, etc., but none of them include built-in editors that allow you to create your own maps, content, and missions. Arma III is unique in that regard, even though it may be dated and flawed in other respects.

You can recreate any battle that occurred between 1890 and present day using Arma III. Or create future war scenarios, if you so desire.

There are a few mods that include content for WW I, and many more that include content for WW II (including maps). I have even seen Korean War mods that includes content from 1950 to 1953.

Of course there is also the S.O.G. CDLC which covers the Vietnam era from 1964 until 1975.

The Cold War between the US and the USSR from 1947 until 1989 spanned decades, so you really need to pick which decade your interested in. The Global Mobilization CDLC, for example, covers the Cold War period during the 1980s, when Germany was still divided.

I have been working on missions involving modern day Russia and the Ukraine and Russia vs. Finland recently. So anything you can imagine that involves a modern (since the 1890s) or futuristic military (except for the Navy) might do, you can recreate in Arma III.

The best way to think of Arma III is not as a game you play, but rather as a game where you must create the mission and then you play.

You are referring to one of the mods, which sounds like either Antistasi or Exile.

Vanilla Arma III does not have a money system (except for Zues). That was functionality added by a third-person mod.

There are lots of PvP and PvE options, depending on which you prefer. Most do not have monetary systems.

King Of The Hill servers are probably the most popular online PvP scenarios, and they do not include a money system.

There are a wide variety of different online PvE scenarios including Co-op, Liberation, CTI, etc. It sound like you've chosen the two types of online PvE scenarios that do use a money system - Antistasi or Exile. Don't let them limit your options.
