Does the CDC Expeditionary Forces new scope "MBS (remote)" control something?

What does the new scope do because the translation in german is "Fernbedienung" like a tv remote. Does it control something or is it just a miss translation?

It's an equipment item. Specifically its a dual scope for your gun with a range finder built in.

You have MBS and MBS remote , both have range finder build in.

Yeah I know it has an rangefinder but what does the "remote" part do?

According to both the built-in config viewer with a quick glance and some personal testing. It litterally does nothing short of what the non-remote version does that I can tell. I can only assume it has a script/function thats used in the campaign, or co-op mission perhaps. As I haven't and dont play the campaigns. I can't tell you much more.

There is no difference between these short of the names.

According to functions list there are EF "spotting" functions? Maybe related or not at all.

it's called "remote" because it adds a pressure pad up front that you can press with your thumb to actuate the controls on the scope, "remotely" operating it. it's purely a cosmetic item.
