Arma 3

Is this game worth it?
A simple and direct question, I am a fan of fps and I want a game where I can play with friends but also have a good amount of multiplayer, is it a really complex game? do you need a lot to work to get a group and have casual fun? Or is it more for people who plan a lot before playing? Do I have to buy any particular DLC?
Since I never tried and arma before I wanna know beforehand.

Apex is needed to play on the Tanoa map, Contact for Livonia map. (Global Mobilization for cold-war Germany map) If MP missions happen on those then you need the particular DLC. Other than that not. Make sure to gauge the prices of the basegame and dlcs individually vs the DLC packs which includes the main game and some other DLC. Though you may not be able to drive/pilot crafts from the DLC you don't have, you can sit as a passenger in them and move along, with some watermark on the screen that it is DLC content. Depends on the mission if DLC gear is included/available. Plenty of mods, terrains and missions on the Workshop though to compensate for that. Most mods try to be vanilla or workshop mods based.

Don't have MP experience myself with Arma 3. So can't reallly say myself how that experiences. It's more complex than a regular FPS title, as it is more of a sandbox world. There is alot of freedom on how you operate in the worlds. You can go in guns blazing without consideration. But you'll likely receive the punishment from AI or other players when you are unaware of the waspnests you run into.

Game is .... not an MP game, its Singleplayer, and multiplayer and then some, a massive military sandbox it has everything.
The core of the game is the editor, without it, every mp mode, sp scenario, campaign ect would not exist.
Watch the following video its an introduction to the game, mind you this is from the Alpha version of the game in 2013 but what is said and described still applies to today
