Is Arma 3 worth it for singleplayer only?
Hi i've been looking to buy arma 3 for awhile, esp now its on sale. but i was wondering if the game is worth it solely for the singleplayer? If so is there any dlcs that i should or shouldnt buy because of it?

I mainly play singleplayer games so i was wondering if arma 3 is worth it as a singleplayer experience.

I am aware the game does have campaigns and mods for sp, but i'm concerned wether im gonna miss a lot of features, experience, or gameplay that is exclusive to the mp, like any other mp centric type of games.

thanks in advance everyone!

There is a campaign in the base game, there is also a nice campaign in the Apex dlc, and there is A TON of missions in the workshop that are 100% playable in both coop and singleplayer.

But beware: bots are cringe, they are stupid and unfair at the same time, so adjust difficulty in settings so their accuracy is low(i prefer 0%) while skill is 100%(this only affects their tactical behaviour, not accuracy).

I have over 1,600 hours, ~1,500 is in singleplayer. I havent touched multiplayer in years, aside from SOG praire fire gamemode. If you play singleplayer on this game long enough, you will eventually want to learn scripting so you can make use just about every single asset, make any scenario, with vanilla AI. Some basic things you would expect in base game through modules or waypoints would need basic scripting. The built-in scripting language is contenting and much, much easier than most games.

It is definitely worth it for singleplayer if you're creative and dont mind learning scripting if you want to make your own scenarios.

All the DLCs are worth it, and they go on sale reasonably often. I suggest you get the core DLCs first, such as APEX before you buy CDLC like GM or CSLA.

Absolutely, and you have almost full power over how it plays, too. (Easy to use mission editor, and relatively easy to learn modding)

Yes.

All my 1800-ish hours of it.

Absolutely. I highly suggest you download "Dynamic recon ops" and download "MCC sandbox".

These two mods essentially let you create and edit the campaign in real time. 50% of the time I get bored with the mission and start spawning two massive armies to fight eachother.

Totally. That's all I play. It helps if you use the editor to create your own firefights and download SP scenarios from the workshop.

Do you create your own missions and play them?
Do you find that it gets boring fast cause you know them in and out or dont you mind that?
