A3 Launcher not recognizing Arma 3

The title says it all. A3L still launches fine, but I cannot download anything at all. My error message says: It looks like Steam isn't running or you dont own ARMA 3, the launcher will still work but you will not be able to download/play with Steam mods. However, my steam is running and I have Arma 3 installed. Any clue on how to fix this? Would the problem be because I have two steam folders? One on my C drive and another on my D drive?

Been years since I've played Arma, but I think I just gave up and uninstalled the program.

I take it you didn't google your problem?

yeah, most of these posts were not created by the time of my post, except from the small reddit post. Thanks for your reply though, since it can help this other person fix it! :)
